Both die at the same time?

Although, mabie it shouldnt be diminished. People have a Hollywood notion of what happens when you get shot. However depending on where and with what people dont just clutch their chest and fall over. There are even reasons where if you are not shot at the base of the skull your body can still spazzum and pull the trigger, though you are missing most of your brain.

did you ever get shot to say something like that?

 

most bullets will knock you down or disorientate you hard if they hit you in the torso. Arm shots will make you lose completely your aim control, and leg shots usually make you fall over almost instantly (if it's not a 9mm or .22). A .45 will easily snap a femur with a direct impact.

 

Actually it's holywood that shows people getting shot and only noticing after the fight is over, for that classical drama effect and "die on his arms" cliche.

Sure it just happens but in the Arma series it happens quite often and alot.

 

Hopefully with time and optimization this can be diminished.

 

Another good way to prevent this would be to have a shake effect when you get hit by a gunshot that changes completely your point of aim not allowing you to get an immediate accurate shot right after taking a gunshot.

 

If the game takes 2 seconds to register a bullet in your head to apply the effects (dead) what makes the difference when trying to apply a side effect of innacuracy? will take too long anyway.

The problem with people not instantly dying, is that it's probably a bug and not a feature. In real life people don't always die instantly, but at the same time there are plenty of cases where they aren't able to return fire anymore.

 

If it's a feature, it needs a clear way of avoiding it too.

Yea that is a problem although I have experienced instances in the Arma 2 engine particularly playing ace where the delay to register hits was a mere milisecond or two.

 

so this is a fixable problem .
