we really need the loot respawn system?

Recommended Posts

when dayz started i was really angry that loot is not respawning.

now i saw the new beta patch changelog and they are testing the loot respawn system.

so i thought to myself - do i really want the respawning loot?

do you have problems with finding good loot? there's plenty of loot even without the respawn.. also the current situation is forcing players to explore the map for unlooted places.

and there's way too much loot. way too much.. just imagine how it will look like with the respawn system. bambies will gear up in 5 minutes! (even now good players can gear up in less than 10 minutes on full servers).

We don't need loot respawning.

Loot respawning is merely there to cater to the impatient casuals who cant be bothered to go north and find loot there.

They want loot to respawn on the coast so they can get geared within minutes of spawning.

i will be satisfied if they will disable the respawning system in the hardcore servers..

Well, actually ...loot respawn is needed for those instances when servers are full and every town has been looted through within the first 2 hours. Even the Northern towns will be looted by the time you make it there. This is a very poor experience especially for new players. So yes, its needed for that.. but for the general server that still has towns like Novy and Zeleno unlooted this is not really necessary.

They seem very focused on getting it right eventually so I would not count on being able to feasibly exploit it come final release.

Loot respawn is essential. Combined with the loot management on the hive (whenever they get around to it), it will be great.

Although, anyone who says that loot respawn will magically fix/impede server hopping is absolutely high off their ass.

Or maybe because Im sick of starving to death, after spawning on the coast?

Loot Quadrant Respawning would cause a decrease (Not alot though) in server hoppers and people who would just "wait" for it to respawn the loot. BTW It's Alpha NOT Beta. :P

More players / more loot

Less players / less loot

This is how I'd like it, rewards players who have balls to interact with people and stops people going on empty servers just to find good loot.

Also, would mean that with more players being around more loot, you'd have to be even more careful. I'm guilty of running openly around everywhere, even straight to the airfield in the centre of the map, just because I can because no one ever dares go more north than Berenzino half the time.

the ideal situation is not to restart the server every 2 hours. Try going in a server thats been up for 8 - 10 hours with 40 ppl in and tell me you don't want loot spawn.

i have no idea what you people talk about

i played on the 100 pop servers for a few days and i found plenty, huge amount of weapons, ammo and food. cities like vybor and zeleno are completely unlooted (except zeleno the military base).

i get fully geared up with stacks of ammo and food for less than 2 hours on the100 pop servers and then go to die BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE TO DO

Or, you know, some might want it so the server doesn't need to restart, adding convenience and immersion.

I'm pretty sure it's all for testing.

Eventually guns and food will be extremely rare and we will be forced to hunt and craft.

So what little food is there will need to re-spawn after while because servers wont reset after 2 to 4 hours.

Eventually we will have persistent servers where they wont reset, so re-spawning loot will be a necessity.

I know there's still gonna be public servers, but I don't think they will reset so soon, but I could be wrong.
