Where's the best place to find a backpack?

been playing Epoch for a few days now. One of my characters spawned without a backpack and in all my hours of playing I've never even seen one available. Where is a good place to look?

If there are AI missions (Epoch) then there will usually be backpacks there. If not, look in the military areas. Also, shooting someone for their gear (and backpack) is a lucrative and relatively difficult option (for the one who enjoys a challenge).

Under military trucks.. I very often find hunter backpacks. Or mountain backpack.

Hi Zombieland.  In terms of the mod (not other versions created by other people like Epoch and Overwatch but the Chernarus mod) you will find the best places to find backpacks are stores, cafes and fire stations.  Sometimes airfields too. :thumbsup:

Do you remember the list of buildings I posted in your other thread? You can find backpacks in those buildings as well. Check out grocery stores and residential buildings (blue dots on dayzdb.com map).

Cheers dude. I'll check those out. I'd imagine they ought to be found in that style of building that's residential and has just one straight hallway with a room each side (two doors a side). Never seen one but it seems somewhat logical they'd be in there.

If you're playing Epoch, you can buy one at any of the trader cities. However, as stated before those AI missions will usually net you a coyote, which can be a bit pricey when first starting out. Just wreck some AI... Careful though, they can be tougher than they look

I might have to try that one day. My question is, how do you find them? is it when the announcement comes up that 'bandits have taken over bla' and then you look for the large red circle on the map? I'd need a decent sniper rifle for that I reckon.

Yep, exactly it. And yeah you probably want a decent sniper rifle, or just go in after someone cleared it. They usually can't take all the backpacks with them
