More zombies, fewer guns, more reality

Recommended Posts

At this point this game is a P vs P game with zombies. I am hoping that this is not a harbinger of the final product. Personally I would like to see ten times the zombies that the game currently renders and far, far fewer firearms. The jumping that occurs between servers is mostly the product of players trying to equip themselves to fight other players…not zombies. Once you clear the spawn zone with an axe you don’t really worry about the zombies anymore, you worry about the other players. Why wouldn’t a smart player seek a low population server to outfit?

More zombies, more zombies, more zombies will fix this and many other problems. The creators of this game are doing themselves a disservice by forcing players to only play in a P vs P manner. The team and survival aspects have taken a back seat to shoot them up tactics. As it is currently once I’ve outfitted myself with food water and weapons what is left for me to do? I’ll tell you…snipe fellow players. I can’t trust any of them and they can’t trust me, such is the nature of the system we currently play under. But what if the act of firing a weapon brought 30 zombies to your position? Well then the scenario of I shoot him or he shoots me becomes less palatable for the victor.

Less ammo, far fewer pistols, way fewer rifles, almost no military equipment and finding a scope should be like catching your shadow.  I know you have all this stuff from ARMA and it’s cool but it limits the scope of the game to a shoot-em-up. If this situation was real I guarantee you would not snipe another person just for giggles. If your trying to create a real to life (at least as close as you can) game then the pile of guns needs to be culled.  I hate to disappoint the eight year olds but this game will require a deeper meaning then to just “blow anybody you meet away,” to survive as a game.

I completely agree with you 100%. Though I believe pistols and shotguns should be almost as common as they are right now, since many civillians own pistols and shotguns. I don't even hunt or target practice, yet I own a hunting shotgun with ammunition. Also, so many people own .22 rifles/pistols, that it would be obsurd not to make them common. I agree that military loot is too common, though. Most of the military gear would be gone, due to all of the soldiers trying to fight the virus.

Haven't the team said that they are working on ways to add more Zeds into the game?  Also from what I hear about the Z's being OP maybe they want to fix the zombies before flooding people with ghost zombies.  I think civilian pistols should be uncommon, civilian shot guns and hunting rifles to be rarish uncommon, civilian automatics being rare and any army guns being very rare.

Sometime devs say servers can handle over 4000 zombies, sometimes they say the amount of loot interferes with number of zombies, but hey let's add helicopters.

H1Z1 is your answer, i do think the current product is more or less all the fundamental concepts put together, i dont expect any features added in the future to be "game changing" or to radically alter the type of gameplay that this game currently presents in the mod and standalone versions. 2 years from now when the full game is finished, people will still be doing the same thing. Respawning at coasts with flashlight, running to the airfields straight away for death matches, looting cities and buildings, trolling in elektro and at the firestations, sniping other player on top of hills, hoarding junk they will never use and generally doing nothing that we are not able to already do.

Post brings up a good point, that the game is conceptually far from perfect, what this does score points for however is how well it has implemented a very original but boring and repetitive concept.

What do you think about if you could find military gear on zombie soldiers? But before wearing/using them you would have to sterilize them with tincture alcohol or disinfectant spray.

I rather stick to Dayz than a Free2Play game which going to have micro transactions. We have the "8 years old" in this game who are just killing for fun, they gonna switch over to H1Z1 and since their parents love 'em so much they gonna buy everything for 'em. They gonna have every OP sh*t in the game because they had more money and 0 effort. Meanwhile you put 100 of hours to find a pistol. Is this meant to be fun... I don't think so. I rather pay for a game once so I can play it for free and get every content for free.

Thats the way I see a zombie game should be also, When did 'other survivors' become the biggest threat in any zombie movie. (other then the bikers, the governor, and the soldier in 28 days)

Honestly people would be using bows and arrows till somebody figured out how to make shells primers, and quality gunpowder, and even the machined M16 jammed in Vietnam, so home made shells?   Automatic pistols and rifles would be jamming all the time.
