Any Roadblocks?

Recommended Posts

Hi, just wanted to ask/comments about road blocks. Since Standalone doesn't have any I was wondering if they were going to be added at all.

The roadblocks we saw in the mod were really good in my opinion, but they were mostly for vehicles, it was what made vehicles think their way through a town or take a small amount of time going around just to get through, giving oporunities to ambush, crash and dich your car in the middle of the town for other people to find and fix and so. With no roadblocks cars will just fly through towns with little to no risk of getting jumped by whoever is in the town.

I don't remember hearing or reading anywhere about roadblocks coming back, I would understand it is something to look into adding later on when vehicles are implemented, but has there been anything mentioned about it?

Thanks.

I remember too. However, would they fit in an apocalypse zombie world? back in the mod roadblocks we're pretty annoying (not that this is a bad thing), but what bugged me the most was they made no sense. Who the hell blocks the roads of an entire country because zombies?

If those are made fitting in the context, would be fun to me. Like crashed cars, maybe a 787 boeing busted all around in the middle of a road. Things like that.

But also, all the roads (like in the mod) blocked because of cars or plane crashed? Not believable xD

The reason road blocks like that would be done in an appocalypse are to stop cars. So people that are stuck in towns would place road blocks for cars to stop and get snatched, I've seen it in many movies.. Or maybe stop military from going through and things like that, but when driving through towns and being annoying is actually the whole point, especially when you had zombies chasing you and could hit inside, it cause many mistakes by being in a hurry or scared and causing crashes making you have to bail out and ditch the car. Then maybe you can go back to fix it or give other players to find cars crashed into road blocks for you to fix. How many times I fixed cars that were crashed into road blocks. It must have frustrated the owner, but it makes perfect sense for what would happen in DayZ.

This reminds me of smth. When vehicles are added, players must be able to shoot from them (even inside them, for if an intruder trys to enter my car. I remember now a fun story from the mod xD). And I hope also prone and crouch actions will make players cover themselves when in vehicles...
