lioblade 0 Posted April 20, 2014 Hi guys. I'm pretty new to all this so excuse me if this is a pretty trivial question but... Do people usually play on the same servers? Or do they just pick whatever server looks good at the time? I was wondering this because I'd like to know, should I play a select few servers, and increase my chance of finding friends, and enemies? Or do people play different servers all the time so it'll be unlikely I'd ever meet someone again if I did meet them?
Max Planck 7174 Posted April 20, 2014 I always play on the same server, only changing to my 'back-up server' if my main one is really laggy for me.I think I get a better 'feel' of the server this way, as well as giving me the possibility of encountering the same people multiple times. Also, if loot is hard to come by, I'll be forced to search hard for it. I like that, it makes for a better survival experience I think.
applejaxc 2500 Posted April 20, 2014 Most people only stick to 1 server if it's a private server or they have a tent/base/car/helicopter they can't take between servers.

We don't have those things yet. The thing I like best about private servers is that they limit you to a single hive. No more hopping...

But we will. I'm talking from experience with the mod.2: I absolutely agree. But there's too many with bullcrap admins that let you buy "Donator perks" and dumb stuff that makes private servers not worth it.

I hope this is a rumor and that private servers are not providing candy-shop donator perks around. Talk about how to flush the DayZ concept right down the shitter... Edit: Oh, wait are you talking about DayZ Mod rather than DayZ SA here, Applejaxc? Edited April 20, 2014 by wacktopia
djporternz 644 Posted April 20, 2014 At the moment in the SA it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, but when we eventually get persistent objects and storage it will. Get into the habit of playing on a single server now, and you'll have a head start on the rest. Also, if you are on the same server all the time you build up a picture of the regular players and then when you run into them in the supermarket... it may not go as badly as it could! lioblade 0 Posted April 20, 2014 Thanks for all your responses guys. I'm going to start playing on one server all the time. Maybe I'll meet a nice group.

ld-airgrafix 403 Posted April 22, 2014 I play day servers, because night servers are pitch black.
