What should be the civilian 5.56 rifle ?

I can't help but feel that there is a missing weapon at the moment in the game.

 

There is no civilian firearm in 5.56 / .223 one of the worlds most popular calibers among hunters and civilians.

 

So let's explore what could be good potential firearms that could be added in that fit this role.

 

 

Immediately the first weapon that came to my mind as a suitable firearm that is a civilian rifle and fits the role was the.

 

Mossberg MVP rifles

 

 

These rifles are unique in that they are bolt action rifles that take any ar15 magazine. This would be important because they would make the m4s various magazines that much more useful.

These rifles would also be suitable because they come equipped with iron sights negating the need for the weapon to come equipped with optics.

 

Savage hog hunter

 

Another suitable civilian bolt gun that comes with a good set of irons and an internal 4 round magazine.

 

Ruger mini14

 

 

This civilian rifle is also a suitable weapon it is a handy rifle with good accuracy however it is nowhere near as modular as an m4 forcing players to use the weapons excellent iron sights.

 

 

 

 

Now it is your turn I wan't to see what .223/5.56 nato civilian rifles you can think of that would fit this missing category.

I seriously want to see craftable single shot pipe rifles of all calibers though.

It is a single shot break action. Also previously sold by Remington and before that their "Spartan Gunworks" under the name SPR18.

 

I suppose it's popular because it's cheap. With the current damage it would really suck in game though.

Yea 5.56 in game is pathetically weak especially when you consider that the new crossbow is a one hit kill to the chest.

The mini 14 gets my vote for sure.  The pic you posted is of the tactical variant gib, I'd rather see a ranch with an 18+ inch barrel.

Ruger gunsight scout is a fantastic choice but I was not aware that it came chambered in .223/5.56

 

I thought it was a purely .308 rifle.

mini-14 would be the go to 223 rifle damn near anywhere in the US, im not quite sure about elsewhere, but it was THE .223 rifle to get a few years ago, many competitive shooters use one, or a .22 LR

I would go for a common, bolt action variant, with scope and extended magazines attachments, and a rare civilian semi auto hunting rifle with scope, supressor, recoil dumper and rail attachments.

 

More like the enfield and CZ from the mod.

 

A mini 14 would be cool too, but it should be as rare as the last rifle i mentioned above.

Thats a 527 it fits the description of what you wanted.

 

It comes in both .223 and 7.62x39mm so it can share ammo with either the sks and akm or the m4 .

shouldnt be that hard to use the same textures and models, just change the ammunition it uses (as the damage in this engine is defined by ammunition and not the gun).

Mini-14 for sure.

 

Mini-30 as well, because it chambers the same round as the SKS. And frankly, the Mini-30 is a far better weapon IRL than the SKS is.

 

I would also love to see a 700BDL added as another long range, bolt action sniper/hunting rifle. I don't care what it would be chambered in, but preferably something like .30-06 or .308. Those would be realistic enough in that they among the most common chamberings for hunting longarms.

 

Personal preference> I would love to see a ruger M77MK2 in something like 7mm Rem Mag, but only because I have one and know it intimately enough to make confident 1-shot kills at 750+ yards.

Another potential civie 5.56 gun is just a regular 20 inch ar 15 perhaps in an accurate varmit package.

 

 

 

Seems like it would be minimal work for the devs seeing as most of the work is done , they could spawn in civilian spawns with 10 round mags.

I think they should add in more rifles that are made for animal hunting, I'm kind of tired of seeing everyone running around with M4s

Can't wait till we get some more hunting rifles.

Would like CZ550 Predator or CZ527 although they do not come in  5,56 calibre.
