That you can build anywere, and you add two road flares to each side of the trip wire.

When something crosses over the wire both flares go off and illuminate the area.

Or they could be used to cover the perimeter of your camp, and if someone is trying to get to your camp they will be lit up.

Trip wire flares would be a perfect tool for modern zombie apocalypse survivors.

They'd be perfect if the wires were half as long as they barbwire.

Ideally the wire length would be dynamic, and you'd use the action menu to start the wire, then again to stop it, up to some maximum length. Attach flares, grenades, whatever.
