Make the spawns somewhere in the wilderness, close to the coast, but not only on the coast.

 

Make a newspawn unaware of where he is, until he finds civilization.

 

Imho, spawns should be everywhere along the edges of the map. And maybe rarely in the middle of it.

First it was Electro deathmatches.  People complained.  Spawns got changed.  Now it's Berizino deathmatch, people are complaining.

 

See the pattern here?

 

Stop going to those damn places if you don't want to get shot at.  Why is this concept so difficult to comprehend?

Or they could just decentralize spawns, punish players for killing themselves with a respawn timer considerably longer than 30 seconds and have people play the game properly, instead of hopping servers for a weapon then going to Electro/Berizino/Whatever the current CoD kid hangout is.

 

Currently you either go to those "DM-City" areas and get shot sooner or later or you go out into the wilds, which is abandoned because everyone else is playing in the coastal cities DMing it up, the problem here is that people aren't using the whole map, so currently the game doesn't function as a survival type game, which is the whole point of DayZ.

I think a quick run to NWAF or Balota is common for players. It takes one of those spots to get pretty kitted up. Once done, you have a choice, spend the hour to get back to spawn-city, or just play with yourself in the woods. I like the woods, but after a day or two of not seeing another soul, I long for the crisp sound of M4 bullets whizzing by my head. At this stage in the game, PVP is really the end-game. Eventually they gotta throw some more content out so we have something to do other than stalking other players. Hunting will be fun, but that fun will probably only last a week or two. What then?

Still, it's a big map. The whole zone should be dangerous, not just 1 or 2 cities and the airfields.

I'm very reluctant to put this so pleasantly, but you do know that in the time it took you to spawn 30 times, you could have reached Cherno and Balota. Seriously, we need to punish this idiocy severely, died of fall damage near a spawn zone, spawn 1,500 meters off the coast.

 

Tis suppose to be a survival game, not a respawn lol game.

Solnichy to Berezino is never 40mins even following the coast wih no compss. I got from zelen to svet in under 30 mins the other day....ok i had a compass so it was a strait shot but even without it wouldnt have taken much over. OP get exploring, the more you do the more the map shrinks. To echo the sentiments of other posters, this isnt a game where you spawn, gun in 5mins, shooting and firefights within 10 mins. Its a game of patience, much running and managing food drink levels, hence the "survival" part of the game.

 

 

Basically be ready to sink in at least an hour to get kitted up, then another 30 or so to find combat (if thats what you want). But the aim isnt to fight.....its to survive. As someone else said, want a strait up fight in Chernarus, with instant access to many guns and forced PvP in small areas.......play Arma2 ;)

I'm also for spreading spawns across the whole map, so you never know where you'll end up. This IMO would add to the diversity of each adventure. Right now I just feel to certain when visiting some remote village that nobody will be there, and there never is.

 

I'm a big fan of randomization. :)

 

Actually WarZ got this one right. There were of course unofficially designated DM zones, but you could always find a fresh/mildly-geared player anywhere on the map.

 

In DayZ only already equipped players venture further west.
