One Character One Server

It's time that characters are forced to remain on one server, eliminating server-hopping. The wait time does no alleviate the issues of server-hoppers. It will also solve other problems and add realism and fear to the game. Server hopping makes the game entirely too easy. It also makes it entirely too easy to acquire loot. I've been playing on an off since semi-early DayZ Mod and allowing people to server hop, even with a wait time, simply damages too many mechanics and allows people to survive too easily.

 

It might also be time to keep characters in the game for a number of seconds after leaving the server to prevent people from simply leaving to avoid death. Everyone knows this has been an issue since the beginning, especially when facing other players. Zombies are obviously still very bugged and not being able to simply just leave might add a little headache when wanting to avoid zombies, but it's a necessary evil regardless.

 

Face it, anyone who disagrees is probably a server hopper that abuses the option instead of facing other players and drops when they can't win.

imo it would be better to be forced to play in one server per day, and not permanently.

I dislike server hoppers aswell, but forcing them to play on one server its not good, because you don`t know what problems the server will have tomorrow *ping increase, lag spikes* etc etc.

Why no support both types?, public hive with serverhopping, public hive with one character per server and private hives with mods. This way everyone would be happy I think.

are we still playing the same game? there is already a 30 seconds counter which lets your character stay on the server with a very obvious "logout interaction".

 

serverhopping, like looting hotspots only on different servers is definitly sh*t, same thing as combatlogging.

but tell me, how does serverhopping affect to your playstyle? are these people immortal then?

 

so to get to your "suggestion": if every char is remained on one server, what should the people do, while they played on a server for about 2 hours and they notice the server is looted as f...? so wasted 2 hours(not everyone is able to play 24/7) connect to a new server... start from beginning.

 

what about someone started playing on a server, geared up. goes to bed, goes to work and then wants to play with his geared character the evening a day later... but server is down. yeah nice.

 

so there a several points, which make your "suggestion" not possible. There are some more points like playing with friends, but dont want to list them all.

the solution is just wait till loot respawnes and we ll see then how the number of serverhoppers will decrease

I'm not entirely sure English is your first language, but if you just said what I can only assume you just said, you must be smoking something less healthy than cannabis.

you are right, english is not my native language. sorry for that. But i ll try to explain it again for you: when you disconnect from a server, it doesnt matter if you get kicked or you hit the exit button. you character stays for 30 seconds on the server and still can get killed and looted. in this 30 seconds you character sits down/goes prone/crouch etc. if you not believe this, test it with a friend.

 

and pls dont judge me, only because of the fact that my english is not as good as yours, i speak 4 languages, 2 of them perfect. thats more than enough.

The only one whose English seems to not be their first language is yours; are you unable to comprehend the Rules and Guidelines?

General Maturity:

This is probably the most simple thing. Just treat everyone with respect, and you shall receive so back. It doesn't mean everyone has to play happy lovers and pretend friends with each other. Arguments and directed comments are allowed, just keep it to a mature level, follow the forum rules and use common sense. The provocation of other users is not tolerated. Please do not make overly aggressive posts.

I do not entirely support this/agree with this, but I am not a server hopper.
