Maybe fans from an industrial complex, but those would hardly be light enough. It's a little more complex than just strapping an engine to your back. And I still don't see the necessarily resources being available to be able to build something like this. It may be possible to do, but its still pretty far fetched in this environment. Making your own fan like that from scrap still seems a little unrealistic in dayz. I concede to your point though, it's just a little too campy for my tastes.
