Recommended Posts

I just bought DayZ today and I tried to run it after i finished installing but it went to black screen then crashed right after. I tried to re-install, update drivers, and change the compatibility.

Intel® Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

8gigs of RAM

GeForce GT 540M

Your CPU is a little weak but the game should run.

There is no need to change compatibility, the game runs very well on W7.

Did you verify your game cache ?

Right click on the DayZ icon in Steam/properties/local files/verify integrity....

Might help, might not.

Good luck.

A few things noted about DayZ I found awkward:

  • Teamspeak overlay caused my DayZ to crash
  •
  • DayZ is DX9 32bit - no idea if thats a problem lol but worth a mention
  •
  • Nvidia video drivers have been noted to cause DayZ to crash. ( 314.22 is the only Nvidia driver that works for my situation )
