theevancat 94 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) Wasn't sure if this went in general or gallery, so please move it if it's not correct. So I've been with a character for about a week, playing with my friend who bought the game. We're about a week into our lives so far, and I decided to sit down and make a map from our travels - the map's "POV" is myself, since I don't know what my friends did when I was offline and it would end up getting too tangled (more so than it already is.) I thought it'd be interesting to share, and that I'd ask you guys to share your own. Maybe one can glean information about trends and habits from these, or simply see others' trips through the wasteland. Anyways, a quick key to start off: Circles are camps (where I logged off for the night.)Five-point star is the spawn.Four-point stars are combat engagements, with the city and day beside. - Blue denotes inconclusive engagements (shots exchanged, no deaths.)- Green would denote victories (enemies killed.)- Red would denote losses (friendlies killed.) Colors: Red = day one.Blue = day two.Orange = day three.Pink = day four.Black = day five. Link to Imgur, since it's fairly large. http://i.imgur.com/avjXvdj.jpg Edited April 13, 2014 by TheEvanCat
Katana67 2907 Posted April 13, 2014 (edited) This would be a great in-game feature (which I'm sure has been suggested many times). +1 I miss the days of having universal map markers, so I'd mark camps for the whole server to see! To underscore the stupidity of like-systems (i.e. side-chat). But having this be a feature of player-specific maps would be great, especially once persistent storage is added. As an aside, I think this is typical in how many people play. And is sort of sad, as very little of the map is actually used. A lot of this is my friend falling off of buildings and regrouping at me at the NEAF (days two through four.) We decided to go to NWAF (he viewed it as sort of a rite of passage because he watched a lot of LPs) and after our encounter there are going exploring. I'll try to update it later.
