I enter Electro as a fresh spawn. I meet a couple noobs and quickly we part ways, I soon find a fully geared player running in the fields, I go investigate and find a new buddy.
 
     3 minutes after I meet Velo he trusts me with a pistol and a single bullet in the chamber (he didn't have a mag).  Soon after Velo is rendered unconscious from a sneak attack and I manage to take out his assailant with the single shot.  Luckily the lag didn't get me killed...

We go on to killing 4-5 more some what hostile people.  We were in Electro for about 40 minutes, I cut it down to 12 minutes of fun.

That was a fun day ^.^

I can see how the OP's remark may have been a satire of something a racist might say, but the fact that he just lets it slide and actually laughs when the other guy casually says "damn n*ggers" makes me think otherwise.

In my experience, a lot of wannabe tactical dudes take black guys.

Their reasoning is, that black is less visible in woods or in general as opposed to white.

 

This alone makes me a lot more suspicious to such players as they might be one of above mentioned.

 

Btw I hope you would rebuke OP the same way, if the remark would be "white ass" or something like that.

What I hate most is this hypocrisy, that is nowadays so popular (remarks against white=no problem, the same stuff against black=capital offence).

That is not what the OP said; he said "Don't trust black people"---I find it difficult to read that interpretation into it.

 

Like I say, I can, if I'm generous allow for racist remarks in an ironic satirical manner---set up in such a way as to mock racist people. But this is on the borderline between that and outright racism. The OP could have clarified if this were the case, and should have made it clear in the video. The response I got sounds like something a racist would say, with all that "political correctness" bollocks they use to defend their prejudice. 

 

And I do dislike irrational prejudice against any group regardless of what the prejudice is based on. Mocking and satirizing it is a valid way to criticize it, but to be honest from the response I got I doubt the OP was really doing so.

 Honestly, I'm taking footage. So I do my best to say whatever comes to mind if it's relevant to a situation. It just so happen an untrusting foe with a weapon in town was black, It's a great way to describe somebody by what colour they are in Dayz.   So the term "Don't trust any black people" I found very relevant to say, And it rolled out ok as slightly abusive racial stereotyping.

  If he were Asian I would have no doubt made an Asian slur, If he were white I probably would have said "there's some white fa&&ot with a weapon over there" So in hindsight It's ALL relative bro.

Not knowing my new friends response and what he would say to it, I found just hilarious the way he said it.  Which shows with my small burst of laughter..  Now pause there if you will. Because if I were some sort of racist, I wouldn't have laughed there. I would have said something along the lines of "Damn rights brotha! White power!"  in a serious tone.  Or something to that overly dramatic extent.

But to burst out in small laughter like we did, Then move along like nothing even happened just shows, We're 2 people crackn Taboo racist things to come together.  Because if you don't have enough of a sense of humor to be slightly racist in a game such as DayZ you should just quit playing.

Most of us over here in North America aren't sensitive Nancy Boys. For that, I must apologize.  Because I sometimes do forget, Just how hilariously up tight a lot of the world is.  To push to the extent where they do their best to point out such an obscure moment. Cute.

I think you're reading too much into things here. I'm not upset or emotionally harmed by what you said at all. I'm pretty thick skinned so far as things like that go.

 

I do however come from a place where you don't let people calling someone a nigger slide. It's a disrespectful term and is not really considered funny in most contexts---out of respect for the connotations.

Alright dude, As it's apparent and you've pointed out. Maybe some people will mistake it as out right racist.  I'll just go on the record and say " I apologize to you and whoever else took it the wrong way. "  No sarcasm henceforth.

I appreciate that you are not racist and I appreciate your above response. However in my opinion you should not make racist remarks jokingly or otherwise. First off it does come across as genuinely racist and secondly it lends an air of legitimacy to people who actually believe those kinds of things. I just don't think it is a fit subject for humour.

I also hope you understand that I am not being overly sensitive. I grew up in a small town where a lot of people are geniunely racist and its not pleasant to hear in any context. I also feel it necessary to challenge, especially those that think it is okay or normal.
