My friend encountered 3 server hoppers in 5 minutes

So last night, my friend was playing at the North West Airfield looting the barracks near the fire station and THREE server hoppers appeared in the space of 5 minutes. This is ridiculous. Is server hopping an accepted thing in this community or what? Seems incredibly common. He killed two of them, heh... and proceeded to set up a trap for more.

If you're gonna server hop, move a few hundred metres away from your target building. I don't condone it, but at least do it right. People who log and hop in buildings should be shot at all times. What's the point anyways? AFAIK if you spawn *in* a building, all the spawns will be empty.

We don't server hop. In fact we despise server hoppers, which is why he set up a trap for them so he could kill them hahah. Most of them seem to be idiots that spawn inside the building. And I've heard that loot doesn't always disappear when you spawn in buildings. We know when one has spawned because all of the zombies outside disappear. Suckers, lol.

Whenever my group hits Stary Sobor I cover from the ridge - There's literally been times where I've saw 3 hoppers come in at the same time and have a firefight with each other and then all DC to avoid death.

Yep. Most of them are PVP dodgers and DC to avoid death. They're the lowest of the low. Scum of the scum. But I'm curious as to how common this is... I have personally been killed by server hoppers MANY times. Is it accepted by this community? (Server hopping, that is)

I usually sit just outside the barracks on servers and wait for server hoppers to walk out so that gear can spawn for them, then I just pop them in the face

Nope, you definitely don't need to tell me how moronic it is. I've never disconnected to avoid death. Not even once. There's no way you can justify doing it, in my opinion. It's one of the most pathetic things you can do in DayZ right below hacking. Also good to know that this community frowns upon server hoppers. That makes me happy :).

Other than maybe 2-3 people, everyone I've shot has attempted to DC on me, it's rather annoying but at the same time satisfying when they fail.

I think there are plans to stop this kind of behaviour. While lots of people do it, it is considered an exploit. Hopefully it will be fixed soon... Probably with some kind of timer, which leaves your body there for x amount of time before it actually vanishes.

I think the NWAF is the spot you will find server hoppers. I wouldn't say, from checking out that place, that everyone server hops. It just happens a lot there.
