Hoff Suppressant 66 Posted April 10, 2014 NVidia and AMD have been updating their drivers so I decided to revisit my graphics settings and how they affect FPS in DayZ SA. I am running GeForce beta driver v. 337.50 on an MSI GTX 780 Lightning. I don't have empirical data from 2 or 3 months ago but based on current performance I think the game is performing better. My specs & settings guide is here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/185243-what-if-you-have-a-nicer-pc-what-should-your-settings-be-and-what-fps-should-you-expect-a-low-end-pc-heres-a-comprehensive-guide/ Don't hassle the Hoff!

Hoff Suppressant 66 Posted April 10, 2014 I playing on that settings(all are maxed) every time, what is the point of that video?(i did not watched properly because i have limited amount of time) I had just done a video settings tutorial here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/185243-what-if-you-have-a-nicer-pc-what-should-your-settings-be-and-what-fps-should-you-expect-a-low-end-pc-heres-a-comprehensive-guide/ It didn't have the FPS overlay in it so I did this video to show FPS with max settings and to show that Object Detail setting is in fact the #1 factor for FPS. Also maybe just me but I think the letter writing part is amusing.
Hoff Suppressant 66 Posted April 10, 2014 Aw, no 3k ? :S I have my eyes firmly set on the new ROG Swift PG278Q. I see no point in getting a new monitor until I can get it with G-Sync. $800 though yipes.
Tatanko 5591 Posted April 10, 2014 Object Detail setting is in fact the #1 factor for FPS. By "Object Detail" do you mean the Objects setting under Quality, or Texture Detail under Textures?
Hoff Suppressant 66 Posted April 10, 2014 By "Object Detail" do you mean the Objects setting under Quality, or Texture Detail under Textures? Objects under Quality. It's the same setting as sceneComplexity= in your profile file in Documents/DayZ/YourName. I don't know the numbers specifically but Very High "Objects" is a value of 1000000 and I think Very Low "Objects" would be something like 100000.
blazinone 72 Posted April 11, 2014 Thanks for doing this! It stinks that the cities perform so poorly. I'm sure they'll get it worked out though.

I was curious to know because I settled on a particular mix of settings after I upgraded to an SSD and it involved turning up a few of my settings. That wasn't one of them :p

Setting it to 200% means the game is rendering 2x as much and can diminish the need for AA.
