What is the point? (Suggestion)

Recommended Posts

NOTE: This does not start out as a suggestion but evolves into one.

Rant:

I have realized (maybe some others have) that at a certain point, the objective of the game gets lost somewhere. Is there an objective? Survive? Done that, and died. Gotten geared up again, went to NW AF, killed some fools, then died a fool myself and started over with the rest of the people I just killed. Rinse and repeat again and again.

Final "end game" is vehicles and eventually choppers that are going to add a whole new element to the game but it is hard to get there and you might spend days looking for a vehicle before you find one.

Suggestion:

Make dynamic objectives giving survivors a point to surviving or existing within this world for so long. They have done it in Evo and Insurgency for Arma2: OA. I do not see why we can't do it for this game.

Example:

You are in Chernogorsk and you get a mission to go to Green Mountain and investigate the dead soldiers or you find a crashed chopper with a file in it that contains information that leads you to another location. Very general idea at best, I will leave the writers to the details. I am just saying, at some point, you should have a point of staying alive in the game for days, weeks, months.

I have just about reached the same point. What is the point? it has grown old pretty quickly.

It needs something more to maintain interest.

I disagree. I don't want a survival simulation ruined by 'quest' style objectives. I'd like to see a more sandbox style 'goal'... IE: "I'd like to build a cabin in the woods, surround it with barbed wire and bear traps and grow crops to wait this whole thing out".

I don't know about other people but when I get shot at, my heart starts racing even playing this for quite some time it still happens. Play with friends? By myself I get in that IDC what happens to me mode. But with friends I don't want to die because I don't wanna run back.

My 2 friends and I were in cherno, I had a CZ 550, one friend had a M16A2, and the other with a Lee Enfield. We saw a survivor we shot at the same time he drops. Was very amussing. Or even the fear of knowing a guy knows where you are but you don't know where he is.

So, Playing with friends or getting into sticky situations will make the game seem less dull rather than just creeping aroud getting stuff for no reason.

I'm not saying PVP is the awnser zombies can be as well, run into a town and go rambo.
