Spawns On The East, Bet Everyone Thought It Was Stupid...

You are thinking in the present .

 

The changes I propose would improve the game now and in the future.

 

Completely randomized spawns have the benefit of

 

- Entire map is vastly more populated

- PVP is now random and not just concentrated to 1 or 2 towns in the coast.

- Loot spawning is no longer needed since players looting is now distributed throughout the entire map.

- Player suicide is reduced or atleast vastly slowed down due to random spawns they no longer have easy things to jump down from.

This is great since it reduces server strain and allows more resources to be put into making bodies stay longer than they are now.

 

 

I agree with most of what you say but the catch here is that the current setup makes it EASIER and far more convenient for the lazy members of the community to PvP.

 

As simple as that.

 

I would be happy if they just had the mods system of spawning along the entire length of the coast. The North would still be relatively noob free and the coastal spawns would be spread out a hell of a lot more.

Wut? Now that people spawn there they just commit suicide to get an Elektro spawn. They don't call them suicide silo for nothing.

Populated? If devs will do random spawn all over the map it would take a 30 minutes to get to ur friends and having fun together. Thats all.

I'm thinking this may be a bit more advantageous than having folks spawn in the east. Especially with Berezino and Svetlo now beefed up, in addition to the shipwreck.

 

But even in the mod, I felt that the spawns were pretty limited. I rarely spawned north of Solnichny, although I spawned in Kamenka all of the time (which I luuuuuurve). There's an unspoken third of the coast that wasn't used for spawning in the mod (likely due to it being wilderness and thus a high-value area for folks looking to store tents/vehicles).

 

I do fear, though, that it will become formulaic once persistent storage is implemented. NW corner is pretty much where the stashes would be located I reckon, especially with the shrinking wilderness along the northern border.

Sounds good to me (although I disagree with inland spawns). You've already got TS to negotiate a meet, put some effort in.

They need to stop that crap.

 

Maybe a 30 minute ban across all servers for self too many self inflicted deaths within a short time.

 

All of the dead bodies just boogs down the server and makes everyones experience worse.

No, just no. They need to eliminate the need to kill yourself first, they can do this maybe with cars etc.... But If you can honestly sit there and say when you spawn next to the lighthouse on the south east coast that you do not throw yourself off that lighthouse every time then you are living a lie. It is a pointless spawn and it needs to be removed.

Since when did DayZ become a quick-and-easy experience where groups all need to spawn in relevant areas without consequence?

 

When did people start prioritizing "easy" spawns and one-dimensional experiences?

 

When did we stop drinking tears and start drinking breast milk again?

 

When I spawn, I look around and play to win, whether it's bugged in the north without a shred of gear... near some massive clusterfuck PvP city... in a middling town... or near some tall structures which had never occurred to me to be used as a cop-out suicide option for when you get a tough spawn.

 

Suiciding after spawning is just like combat logging in my mind. Bailing out when the shit is too tough. It's just worse in my mind, because you're not doing it because you're in danger... you're doing it because it's inconvenient for you.

 

Wow, I've never spoken like a DayZ derp wannabe hardass before. Help me somebody!

Thats the thing with random spawns it is all up to luck .

 

You could spawn anywhere and the first 20 minutes of someone freshly spawning will be them trying to orientate themselves and see exactly where in the map they are.

   I agree, they do need to stop the spawning in Solnichniy 80% of the time crap. It sucks, don't it.

Why should the game hold your hand just because you got a spawn you did not like ?

 

Deal with the cards you have been dealt if you get the lighthouse spawn then make your way to a nearby town .

 

Suiciding to get a better spawn is the lazy way out and frankly it needs to be discouraged with some in game method such as my suggestion of a global 30 minute ban.

Even though you guys threw this topic into a different direction then intended. I want to say that the Devs NEED to put the spawns in explorers favor, like spawning on the east in Solnichny. I have no problem spawning in solnichny or even Kamenka in the mod, I took it as a challenge. I have played this Game for so long that I know this map better the town I live in, PVP has become just a natural accorance to me now and I don't even become nervouse or sweaty anymore when PVPing. The ONLY thing I have now in DayZ to look forward to is Surviving/Exploring/Scavenging like the game is invented to be. I mean I honestly hope and pray every time I go into the woods I hope I get lost and find somewhere I haven't been but it hasn't happened in a LONG time.

I haven't suicided once in Standalone and see no need in it. For the ones that just want to PVP and nothing else I feel bad for you and wish you could see it the way I do. There is more than Call Of Duty in DayZ, you just have to make your own story. I know that getting lost and scavenging is not as exciting as getting shot at in a heated battle but once you become numb to that feeling it becomes just like COD, senseless shooting.

All I hope that the devs do, for an experienced/devoted player as myself, add more and more to the map, as soon as you added more to north, I went there as fast as possible so would have something to do. Please add more....

I 100% agree. We need random spawns, placed strategically around the map. This would mix things up and force players to hit the nearest town or village for gear, causing more encounters. Right now everyone spawns in one area and skips the nearest towns under the (mostly correct) assumption that everything's been cleared out already. Everyone sprints to elektro or berezino. I go to Cherno and yes, you may run into someone but not like elektro or berezino.

Id recommend arma 3. Its a really good pvp game. This game is a survival horror game focused on player interaction. 

   Yes, I know. I don't want pure PvP. We interact with lots of people. For instance, two days ago - I found a man with an axe. I talked to man with axe. I cuffed axe man. Axe man broke out of cuffs. My buddy shot him and said "Less talk more action. I don't like my Rape victims resisting". I continued to put my second pair of cuffs on him. I took his blood. He died. Interesting, huh?

Yes. Solnichny was a very common spawn for me before I migrated to Origins.

So traversing across the countryside isn't fun presumably? Personally I like it, the map is brilliant but it does depend on what you like. I'm going to assume you want to get a gun as quick as possible and go find some pvp adventure?

They are going to add steam achievments for longevity of life - I think they need to add a leader board, aimed at surviving only (no PVP shit), such as

 

How many days alive (this is calculated on actual game time played which is easily taken from steam.

How many miles walked (I said miles dammit not kilometers - they're for girls ;))

Most killed player (A bit of reverse psychology?)

Most friends made whilst play DayZ (as in people you added whilst you were playing DayZ, so people you met in game - this also gives another reason to be friendly)

What about disabling fall damage for the first hour of a fresh spawns life.

 

This limiting a players ability to suicide from heights.

I've travelled all map already so there is no fun in traveling for me anymore so yes i want to get a gun as quick as possible.

There is nothing wrong with that. You can get a gun anywhere in the map. How would random spawns affect that ?
