Variation of Crashed Helicopters: Military Tents & Other Things

Another great idea. Instead of memorizing loot spots and going straight to cities, exploring for random instances can provide a better sense of adventure as well as giving great rewards for doing so.

Ambulances could contain medical supplies and crashed vehicles in general could contain car and helicopter parts.

ORIGINAL:

Ill keep it short and simple:

1. Keep crashed helicopters and their rare loot.

2. Slightly reduce the loot (or it's quality) at high tier places such as airfields.

3. Create randomly spawning military tents that have normal military loot and a occasional high tier loot (similar to helicopters, not to the same extent in terms of quantity).

4. Tent will have an option to be "destroyed". Once it's destroyed a new one will appear within a reasonable amount of time (at least four hours IRL? debatable).

5. Tents will have numerous zombies, more than crashed helicopters. Mostly military obviously.

6. Tents could include other supplies including health boxes at the expense of more military loot/high tier equipment.

Results: Less camping at airfields, greater rewards for traveling, more excitement going the scenic route.

Realistic Backstory: Military is sent in to create refuge areas, overrun and destroyed due to degree of zombie infection.

Additional suggestions? Ideas? Criticism? Remember, feel free to change or add on instead of saying "NO I DUNT LIEK IT".

That's the main idea, to promote exploring while decreasing server hopping and camping at fixed locations such as airfields.

That is a great idea. Would rewards those who actually venture out to explore instead of camping major cities and places of importance. I for one would love the excitement of finding a crashed ambulance for medical supplies, risking the chance of falling into an ambush for valuable antibiotics and morphine, blood packs.

I'm fine with other sources of loot, but i'd like to see more of them being event-based.

Check out my heli-crash-site improvements thread to see what I mean. The same concept could be applied to active and dynamic shipwrecks, ambulances etc. But they really should be events. (Again, see the thread, linked below).

I'll review your points and give my thoughts.

1. Sounds good.

2. I would say the loot should be reduced drastically, not slightly. I'm thinking reducing the loot chance of all military items by at least half. Also, fire stations/other non-military areas need to stop spawning military loot.

3-6. IDK about this one. It wouldn't seem to make much sense to me if I'm in a forest, hit a clearing and see a bunch of military tents in the middle of an open field. What I would propose instead is what DemonGroover had in mind. In addition to crashed food trucks, maybe there could be a convoy of crashed military vehicles or something. The area would be littered with dead soldiers and a bunch of zombies, maybe like 10 or something per crashed vehicle. Each crashed vehicle would spawn a random military weapon with 3+ clips.

I like the idea to make the world less static, though. I think most of the problems people complain about (not bugs/glitches) can be traced back to how static/predictable the world is.
