Cooking ammo and timed explosives

Timed explosives? Cooking ammo

  1. 1. Passively triggered explosives?

  2. 2. Cooking ammo

In Dayz I want to be able to put bullets on a stove and have them go off after a fixed period of time to create a distraction/diverstion, so I can make loud noises as a distraction to allow escape or flanking.

Also, timed explosives or trip wires for gernades would be useful if implemented correctly.

Similar to

but with a smaller/cooler fire so it takes longer for them to go off

Are those people in the first video just a little stupid?

Let's throw a handful of bullets into a fire. What could go wrong?

On-topic, though; Yes. Both of those would be neat, though bullets on a stove is probably less likely to happen than traps with tripwires.

Those guys are stupid. All it takes is ONE fragment to hit you in a vital area, and boom, you're severely injured.

I wanna see anything you could rig up in real life easily.

So yes, put ammo into some embers and get to about 15m and down to reduce shrapnel damage to a level it won't hurt you too much if you are even hit.

Each bullet should throw off 1-3 bits of stuff that could do as much damage as a hammer under 5m.

Catch a group around a fire off guard and you could actually have a very scary (not extremely lethal distraction), a piece of shrapnel to the head might knock you out, and they might cause bleeding.

Could be a very good way to scare someone if you have some loose rounds and no gun.

I was thinking about 5.56 rounds BTW.

7.62x39 and 7.62x54R should be even crazier.

More rounds = better effect.

Throwing small arms ammo into a fire really isnt that dangerous, the casing usually flies off with minimal velocity. Shotgun shells on the other hand are a different story.

Gotta say no to this suggestion, there's already enough ways to kill someone in the game.
