jbrodjeski@yahoo.com 16 Posted June 25, 2012 Everytime I shoot at someone they take a few shots then they logout. It makes any of the smaller cal weapons useless. If you cant down them in 2 shots they just log out and vanish.Even if you do manage to kill them before they logout, there body vanishes before you can loot it. There needs to be a long logout timer. Take examples from some mmo's. I think it was ultima online that had a 5 minute logout time, unless you were by a campfire. I would like to see DayZ have a 1 minute logout timer unless you are by a camp fire. Right now logging out has too many exploits. You can easily escape pvp. Even if you get hit, you can have your friends log in and rescue you on another server with banadages or epi pens. You can run as fast as you want by zombies to the buildings you want to search (barracks, church, store, etc). Once you are inside you can logout instantly even if zombies are hitting you, then log back in and the zombies are gone. You can now loot in peace because you spawned the items when you ran in the building. You can logout with stuff in your backpack and your body remains for a few seconds. Your friends can loot your stuff and when you log back in you still have it. So many issues with instant logging. Please add a significant timer. If your not safe, you shouldnt be able to logout. Kageru 18 Posted June 25, 2012 It's a minor problem that only PK's really care about, but I'm pretty sure a short logout timer is likely. A quick google suggests there's some mechanical problem with times greater than 5s though, which is probably why it's not in now.

I listed several exploits to logging out instantly. Duping items, and farming gear stashes with no chance of zombie aggro.

bemurad 0 Posted June 25, 2012 People that benefit from logging out during a firefight should be banned, rocket said that it is an exploit that will be fixed in the future. Admins should be enforcing this on all servers.
Skeltah 0 Posted June 25, 2012 There is a thread dedicated to this issue. You are not' date=' believe it or not, the first to notice.[/quote']LoLFor the subject: Shoot them in the head :) at least you'll get the bandit kill, or perhaps become a bandit yourself. From what I have been told, bodies wipe every 15 minutes, regardless of when you kill a player. So if you kill a guy and the clock just happens to be at 14:58 seconds, their corpse will disappear in 2 seconds regardless if they have disconnected or not.--I have however, seen the body stay after a player has disconnected----I also have seen a corpse disappear immediately.. chances are due to bad luck with the corpse timer. I could be mistaken though.
Yeni 53 Posted June 25, 2012 I can see how it can be exploited by removing the aggroed zeds. But I dont see how it can be exploited in a firefight. Unless they relog onto a different server, and get to a good position to relog onto the server they logged out from, and kill the threat, then it isnt an exploit. If the guy didnt want to be involved in a firefight, then let him be, just get good aiming, and fast fingers to shoot him.

If the guy didnt want to be involved in a firefight, then let him beOr maybe if the guy didn't want to be involved in a firefight he should go play a fucking game that doesn't involve firefights? Novel idea, no?

In addition, closing sessions when under fire etc. ArmA servers don't magically go *poof* and they are gone unless the session is closed intentionally. I have had 11 people disconnect on me within the last 24 hours, so this needs to be adressed. That includs a group of five I was stalking for a while. As soon as the first one got hit they all dc'ed.Pussywars.
