If you would like to visit the community suggestions page, please visit it here;

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/172276-the-communitys-list-of-suggested-weapons-for-dayz-standalone-important-announcement-read/

It is thoughtfully run by AlexeiStukov, and one should head there if they wish to suggest a new firearm to be added.

This page is specifically dedicated to polls on weapons, and there will be a lot of them. Discussion is fine, so long as it is on topic. Responses will be based on people's posts, and many guns will have to be divided up due to the sheer number of allowed guns (I already, as of writing this, have 30+ pistols in mind.)

Each poll will remain open for approximately 5 days, before being closed as such.

Please read the below information before answering the polls. Also, I will not be doing extremely similar variants of pre-existing, confirmed and/or already polled weapons (Such as the Beretta 92FS and Beretta 92F).

If you do not want a weapon to be added, simply do not check a box and your vote will be cast as a "no."

Pistol poll #1 | 3/30/2014 - 4/4/2014 | Finished (Poll failed, will re-do at a later date)

Beretta 92FS

survey_156599_field8_uiObject.jpg?timest

9x19mm - Italian | Standard sidearm of the U.S. military, as well as many other nations. The Beretta is an excellent firearm, although often criticized for its' heavy weight and reliability issues in dirty environments. It is still very popular with civilians and police officers around the world.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Browning BDA

survey_156599_field10_uiObject.jpg?times

Various calibers (9x19mm, .380 ACP, etc.) - American & Belgian | Used often by hunters and gun enthusiasts alike, the BDA is a highly accurate and consistently reliable handgun.

[.380 version shown]

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Browning Hi-Power

survey_156599_field11_uiObject.jpg?times

9x19mm - American & Belgian | Very popular handgun, akin to the Colt 1911. It still sees major use with the world's militaries and police forces (even being used as the main British sidearm until 2013), and can make a great hunting or personal defense handgun. Hi-Powers can be found nearly everywhere.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Colt M1903

survey_156599_field12_uiObject.jpg?times

.32 ACP - American | While not very common anymore, millions were produced and are undoubtedly hidden around in the various barns and coat pockets of inconspicuous persons, this gun was nicknamed the "pocket pistol" with good reason.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

CZ-52

survey_156599_field13_uiObject.jpg?times

7.62x25mm Tokarev - Czechoslovakian | Former sidearm of the Czechoslovakian military, it was heavily exported around the world as it was phased out of service. As such, many of them ended up around the world, including within many Eastern European countries due to ammo commonality with the Tokarev TT-33, another hugely common pistol.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

FN FiveSeven

survey_156599_field14_uiObject.jpg?times

5.7x28mm - Belgian | This brand new pistol is a superb feat of engineering, being the world's most accurate handgun and extremely lightweight. It can hold an above-average capacity of 20 rounds, and has very high armor penetration.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

FP-45 "Liberator"

survey_156599_field15_uiObject.jpg?times

.45 ACP - American | Intended for mass supply drops to resistance groups across Europe during World War II, the FP-45 was a cheap, single shot, .45 ACP pistol that hit hard and hid well. Unforunately, few still exist in the present because of the plan's failure, but it remains an interesting collector's item.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Glock 17

survey_156599_field16_uiObject.jpg?times

9x19mm - Austrian | Arguably the world's most popular handgun, the Glock 17 is a proven handgun. It is extremely reliable and lightweight, and offers good utility for beginners and pros alike. It has seen export everywhere, and almost every Western (and Eastern) country uses them to some extent.

(Obviously I cannot post all Glock models, other models ARE viable but I had to limit the number)

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Glock 22

survey_156599_field17_uiObject.jpg?times

.40 S&W - Austrian | Similar to the G17, the Glock 22 is incredibly popular. It is especially popular with law enforcement and security groups because of its' higher stopping power, but the downside is that it weighs more.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Glock 26

survey_156599_field18_uiObject.jpg?times

9x19mm - Austrian | The Glock 26 is 9x19mm like its' big brother, the Glock 17, but is much more compact. This makes it much easier to conceal and draw, with the major downside being the decreased ammunition capacity.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

GSh-18

survey_156599_field19_uiObject.jpg?times

9x19mm - Russian | The GSh-18 is essentially a Russian take on the Glock series. However, it has about half the parts, making it more reliable overall. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs adopted the weapon in 2001, inciting major production.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Heckler & Koch HK-45

survey_156599_field20_uiObject.jpg?times

.45 ACP - German | The HK-45 is a new pistol, prominently seen in series such as the Book of Eli. Although not widespread, the gun has seen much acclaim (as do most H&K firearms) and production has ramped up in recent years.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Heckler & Koch P-7

survey_156599_field21_uiObject.jpg?times

.22LR/.32 ACP/.380 ACP - German | The P-7 is an early 70's Heckler & Koch handgun that was produced to be a useful compact pistol, and it succeeded at that. The German military adopted it for the special forces, and the Bundespolizei (Federal Police) also used it to an extent, but it was gradually phased out in 2008. It still sees use with quite a few police departments around the world.

Yes - 0 | No - 0

Heckler & Koch USP

survey_156599_field22_uiObject.jpg?times

9x19mm/.40 S&W/.45 ACP - German | Designed in the late 80's and early 90's, the USP has become one of the world's most well-known handguns, no doubt Heckler & Koch's. The design and accuracy of the weapon, as well as variance of calibers has caused its' adoption by many militaries and police forces, including the German Bundeswehr. The USP is very prominently featured in media, and especially, video games.

(USP-9 shown, this answer encompasses the USP-9, USP-40, USP-45, P8 & P12, so vote yes if you want ANY of them)

Makarov is an obvious choice since it's Russia, and Sig Sauer P226 was my second choice, as it has always been my favorite pistol in real life. It was the first airsoft gun I got, as well, and SS is just a cool brand IMO.

Haha, my first gas pistol was a WE-Tech P226, what are the odds? I've still got it and it runs great, just like the real one.

S&W M460 (XVR)

Two words. Fuck. No.

I think the highest caliber in the game for pistols should be anywhere below 454 Casull. Preferably a .44 magnum with a 45 long colt or 45 ACP(or one that fires both with moon clips) for reasons in the following paragraph.

The 460 has not been around long enough, nor is it as common as other popular magnums and the 454 casull. The 44 magnum has been doing the rounds since 1955 (same time as the Python) and got a huge boost in popularity post-1971 (I think we can all guess why) and the 454 was around in 1971. The 454 (probably the base cartridge for the 460 but don't quote me on it) is also popular for protection against big game (bears and shit like that) for years along with the 44 but is also used alot in Metallic Silhouette shooting.

On another note, I propose that the only Fire rate cap on firearms in this game should be the real life fire rate and recoil. Sure you can squeeze 6 shots of 44 magnum off in 1 second but how likely are you to keep them on target if you aren't Jerry Miculek? No to all this "Balance" shit that new games have.

If they were gonna add another western revolver, I'd say a S&W .44

I don't mind if we see lots of different types of bullets, just because it would mean that finding correct ammo would become a problem.

Which I think it should be.

NO MORE WESTERN GUNS! Sorry.

Depends on what you define as western. A lot of the aforementioned guns are German, Swiss, Belgian and Italian, and we know that the P-38 is coming.

I personally think that guns like the C96, Glocks, Sigs, Luger, (and obviously the Tokarev & Makarov) are must-haves simply because of international prevalence. The rest I differ on, but I'm not going to vote in my own poll :P

I'll probably put that on the revolver post, because you asked :).

I can't guarantee anyone will actually vote for it, though. It's just a poll, if an overwhelming number of people seem to agree with you then it's probably important to know.

It is amazing to see that one of the best and most widely used handguns of all time has almost the same amount of votes as an Archaic, rare derringer wich you wouldn't find outside the US on a good day.

I'm talking bout the Browning hi-power.

I can see why. It was widely used everywhere except for east of the Berlin Wall.
