Servers requiring beta 1.60

So the servers with side chat only require Arma 2 beta 1.60...

This kind of makes me concerned, wouldn't an outdated patch be bad and hurt the integrity of the game?

or what gives?

I keep my ARMA 2 beta and DayZ up to date and have been playing on servers with the latest version and have seen some people using Side chat, not really sure how that one works.

I have all my files up to date, there are several servers out there running the latest DayZ files but not Arma 2 beta so it can have side chat.

It allows you to side chat even though the server is out of date.
