3D MAP

We need this A.S.A.P.

 

Rocket, a while back was talking about trying to implement a 3D Map that you can look at in your hands and other people will see you using it.

 

I don't know if it is in the pipeline, but I saw no mention of it as of recent.

 

This adds some much needed immersion and various gameplay encounters to the game.

 I think he means a map that is a holdable object. Similar to maps in Minecraft (first thing that popped into my head) and other players can see you holding your map open.

I'm not familiar with Minecraft, but do you mean that if the player find a map in game pick it up and uses it, other players should be able to see that the player is currently holding and looking at that map?

 

That would of course make sense, as would animations when the player is reading books or notes, or even when just inspecting all sorts of objects.

A 3D holding map, would be entirely unrealistic, but awesome, it would have to be done in a way to make it look drawn or pictured, and the mafia will always happen at some point! Sure, well get you that bloodbag to save little jimmy, for a price...
