Making a home for yourself

I am hoping that there can be some way to store your items, in a chest or something, and to set up a home base sort of. You know, if I find a nice defensible area, and I want to stay there, it would be cool if I could stash items there and maybe even build a makeshift wall. Something. Maybe if you could even farm, grow tomatoes or something. I would like to be able to create a home base. I know it might be asking a lot, but if there could be some feature in-game like that, it would be really great.

OMFG... it's your first post, so I'm assuming you're new, but this is a confirmed feature. Watch the devblogs on Youtube and read the notes made by the developers on the forums here before asking for a feature.
