Can perfect strangers become friends and play DayZ together?

Recommended Posts

I present for your consideration a group of guys that met using direct chat in Berezino that spent the better part of an entire day running around together.

I personally don't understand people that actively avoid player interactions as I have had some of my best DayZ experiences meeting new players.

If you complain about being killed on sight you're a baby.

DayZ is what you choose to make of it.

Part 2 currently finishing upload.

i had this happen to me in the mod
I called out for help when my legs were broken, and a guy helped me out.
We sorta went on a mini adventure and he invited me into his TS and we just sorta became a team.

About an hour or so after that we (and the entire server with us) were teleported to the debug plains after a deathmatch between the survivors and the bandits of the server. The survivors remained. We decided to gear up using the bandits' bodies and we went on a journey through the plains heading for the northwest border of the map.

The journey lasted about 2 and a half hours. Not all of us made it. some starved to death. Some just gave up. When I crossed the borderline out of the plains, all that remained was me and one other. We continued into the wastelands trying to find a town and get our bearings (and food) we  got attacked by some zeds and I accidentally shot my friend... I felt like I had killed a real person, especially after all we had just been through.

I met up with the remainder of the server after a restart that reset everyone's positions.  These 4 guys are the guys I spent 2 months surviving with. We were a good team.

I haven't talked to them in a while though.. Kinda sad really.

Anyways thats my story.'

That's what DayZ including the mod has always been about for me. I play daily with people that I met randomly in-game.

Episode 2 is live.

Really enjoyed both parts. Night time gameplay is awesome. Thanks for sharing!! I've met survivors that are still playing from time to time with me. Some complete strangers who used direct communication ending up playing for hours together and exchanging profile info to continue on different occasions. DayZ is great for that.

Yup. Kossuth and I met on a server when I was low blood in Zeleno from zeds. Asked for help in side chat and he showed up on a quad and bloodbagged me. We ran into one another a few more times and ended up teaming up. A month or two later we met Hoff under similar circumstances.. That was almost a year ago now. We all ended up being heroes in the mod and kept paying the kindness forward. We've saved each others asses more times than I can count and been through a lot. :)

I've made two friends totally in game so far. Unfortunately, one of them seems to have disappeared, haven't seen him online in months.

You can always meet strangers that are fun to play with! I do it all the time. Not everyone out there will kill on sight. If I find someone helpful and we have somewhat of a common goal in mind, i'll coordinate with them and stick it out with them to any end. It's way more helpful and ups your survival chances to have an ally with an extra set of eyes. The better experiences in the SA game and standalone involve these types of interactions. I've had some really good memories with people by joining forces rather than a shootout. I spent about a year being a bandit and a year being nice. Both have rewards, but I personally prefer hanging out with people and going on adventures. Never know what could happen.

I also met some fresh spawns yesterday, i got to berenzino with them, tried to find some equip for them and my friend got shot. i let them took his stuff and we killed the bandit that shot my friend. it was great fun afterwards and they added me to the steam friendslist. i love when you make new friends just by helping someone

Brillianto. Great to see you CAN get some good companions along your journey through Chernarus. I usually play hardcore, UK servers and I haven't found any yet :) Good vid
