Epicness15 0 Posted March 27, 2014 Hello, Recently I have bought and installed the Day Z standalone, and this is what happens. I open up the game, and everything is going great. I lower the settings all to medium then start the game. After a while I finally find and connect to a good server. I look around and it is awesome, but then I try to move and my entire game freezes for about 2 minutes and then I am one step forward. I look around and i can see fine without any lag so I take another step forward, with the same results. Quickly I change all the settings to very low, and reconnect. I have the same issue. Can anyone help? Long story short, I can easily look around, open my inventory, and punch (since I only have my fist), but as soon as I try to move my frame rate drops to 1 frame per minute. I can't really say for sure, but it sounds like your HDD might be really really slow or perhaps damaged. That's more my guess really. You meet the minimum requirements to play the game yeah? crimsonbzd 247 Posted March 27, 2014 Yeah I do, and i have plenty of other games that run fine and don't lag. What speed is your hard drive? HDD speed has a direct effect on DayZ's performance. Do you exceed the recommended requirements? Like, by a lot? Cause that's the only way to play the game comfortably in it's current state.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Yeah I do, and i have plenty of other games that run fine and don't lag. No it works fine Post your specs...a "good pc" can range from a pc that barely makes the minimum to a top notch 5000€ gaming rig. Every person has a different perception of fuild fps...one has no problem with 20 fps the other has problems once they drop below 40 fps etc. My 6+yo core2duo can run Crysis 1 "just fine" on high and high/med on Crysis 2 about 25-40 fps and ArmA 2 in the editor with 5km view distance on high/med...and my current rig will still be drawn down to unplayable if i join the wrong server with like 100 players and never restarted for 2 weeks...although i played on a wasteland server with around 10-15 regulars that didn't get restarted up to 5 days and it still ran just fine, you could see some fps drops starting from the 4th day.
