Dumb questions on reloads

Recommended Posts

Played the mod a ton, just got the SA on the weekend so I have a few questions.

Mainly about reloads, is there a quicker way of reloading than opening my inventory? The keybindings say R but it does nothing. Also, I looted a pistol but am only able to chamber a single round, do I need to find magazines for a full load? IMO, guns should come with a single empty mag if that's the case.

I know it's an alpha, but there must be some bugs, as I found a SKS and originally could only chamber a single round, then for some reason it allowed me to load a full mag an hour later. Am I doing something wrong?

thanks

Reload button works if you have mags, or speed loaders. It grabs a loaded mag to swap.

If you have loose ammo, you still must open inventory, and drag it over.

Ahh thanks for clearing that up. Makes sense, but damn if pistols aren't useless 1 round at a time.

With the latest update, you don't want to shoot a gun anyway lol.

Well just get everything out of your T-shit slot, take axe after you pew pew pew and run circles, yell - HULK SMASH!! Profit

Would be nice if R did this stuff without mags/clips also. Like R would load a single bullet in a pistol if you didn't have a magazine or load up/top up 5 bullets in a Mosin etc. I don't see why this shouldn't be the case; not like you have to drag a magazine/clip over to the gun. It would obviously just take longer than loading a clip/magazine and be limited to 1 bullet etc (or 2 shells in a shotgun and so on).

I think the current system is a clever way to add additional time to the reload process with the absence of a mag, stripper clip, or speed loader.  Mags and other speed loaders should be faster than digging a lose round out of a backpack and manually feeding into a chamber.  The "game" play balance is that you can still move around/run with your inventory open while you drag&drop which isn't particularly realistic for digging through a backpack.

If it's and FNX ya, without a mag, it's pretty useless.

Yep I found a FNX and that useless silenced .22 pistol, both without mags. Luckily, my slightly less useless 2 barrell doesnt need mags, but R still wont reload it.

It certainly gives value to magazines and clips.
