p4triot 207 Posted March 25, 2014 Bought the game yesterday, been testing some things today, those are my concerns so far:- Shouldn't the character throw down to the ground when running and pressing 'Z' at the same time as it was on the mod? I can't imagine being in a shootout or having to fast hide from a zombie and watching my player 'slowly and carefully' lie down on the floor xD- The mouse movement is AWFUL (dont know if its only me or what) but it's not consistent at all. The distance travel of the pointer on my screen seems to depend more on how fast I move the mouse than on the distance I move it over the mousepad. And it seems to move the less distance the faster I move the mouse (even stops). Also, I can't seem to deactivate the acceleration, the only option that appears there is 'Acceleration: activate'.- Pressing secondary mouse zooms in, as it was in the mod, but it doesn't work when you're aiming down your sights as it did in the mod.- Some controls are duplicated on the assignments list or is it me? (Like Turbo and Sprint)- Zombie bodies are disappearing after 5 seconds of killing them (server side maybe?)- My character configuration doesn't seem to save properly, every time I die I get a new random character. My configuration of sex/skin/clothes is completely ignored. (Server side again?)- I can't seem to understand zombies, sometimes it takes just a few hits to kill them, sometimes it takes a LOT (even died after trying to kill one for over 2 minutes to hit each other repeteadly xD)Also I experienced the usual problems like zombies going through walls, etc etc. But since theres 198275981 threads, there's no need to add say anything.Likes:- I can now finally open/close doors easily like in any other game. Opening doors was hell back in the mod >.<- Love the new zombie skins, and the buildings interior (though some gore would have been apreciated)- Hats, hats everywhere! (Server side again?) -HM, MAKE SURE YOU ARE SETTING UP YOUR CHARACTER CORRECTLY? One of them makes you dive to the ground when running without a weapon out, the other makes you do it when running with a weapon on. cant remember which is which i just know i have one bound to CTRL so i have to remember to press that if i want to dive while i have a weapon out. And in the mod, you could extra zoom with the secondary button (or the +/- key from the numpad). I used that feature a lot and now I miss it really bad. So my hopes were that now you had to bind zoom to another key (since the secondary mouse when aiming is for holding breath). (I would try myself but can't play right now). thats it, if u look when you ADS in the SA it auto zooms you in. so your still zooming just not as much and u have no control over it (unless you use the FoV trick which is basically abuse imo...), and in terms of the binding im not sure i honestly cant remember ive done several night shifts since finding this out, il let u know later if i get a chance to play. BadAsh (DayZ) 1513 Posted March 26, 2014 Regarding the number of hits to kill zombies it very much depends on your type of weapon. Most melee weapons are really useless and takes multiple hits to kill a zombie, and only the axes (and I have heard the farming hoe) is effective in the 1-2 hits range. However it also depends on where you hit them. Headshots deals more damage and may cause you to knock out the zombie for a short period of time (which you should use to give it some extra hits while its down).
