After few weeks spent playing DayZ i will make a summary of the things IMHO need to be changed or added (and as usual sorry for my bad english, i hope all will be comprehensibile)

 

Some of those ideas are already discussed around in other topics, take this simply as summary of my preferences

 

1) Too many fire weapons: i know that lot of cities and probably also military bases will become harder to explore when the zeds will turn in a real threat but IMO to many buildings actually spawn fire weapons and some of this buildings, with the last patch, has been added in low populated areas so i must suppose that find a weapon will be easy also in the future, specially if dev will add more "military-oriented" buildings like prisons and similar things:

actually, Schools, office building, piano house, brick house, firehouse, 4 type of military buildings, castle towers, roof of kiosk (wtf?!) , yellow police station and wooden pubs spawn fire weapons. IMO it's really too much. after few hours spent playing dayz you will be able to find a decent weapon and related ammo in less then 30 min. IMO the spawn rate need to be lowered at least of 50%

 

2) too many huge backpack: as for the weapons it's really easy find a good backpack and other high slot capacity equip, that means that poeple can bring loads of shit with them, in order to make real "survival" IMO you need to consider carefully what you need and what not every time you loot something, maybe in future we need to carry more useful items like wood, matches, pots, etc.. but it will be fun if only few players can find a capacius backpack that will also incentivate players to cooperate and share stuffs cause a lone wolf may find the solitary life really hard. perhaps we will see also some more trade and lesser KOSers.

So i would like to see instead of loads of big backpacks more different containers like small and medium bags, fanny pack, military pocket, etc..

 

3) To stay on-topic with the point 2 Ruined vest and backpacks: a simple idea for the ruined equip: it's not realistic like others i've read around but imo will work and has some sense: remove half of the slots, A ruined pair of cammo pant probably has some pocket ripped so they remains with 3 slot on 6, same for the backpacks and any other wearable item.

 

4) Make raincoat foldable (2 solt) dunno if it's the right word so i can bring one with me to wear when it's raining, i suppose in the future will need to protect ourself from the heavy rain.

 

5) Rain effects: i would like to see after the status soaked has lasted for 30 or more minutes, characters get a cache to get down with the flu with sneeze effect (like metal gear) and shot breath (the same you get when you stop after running), antibiotics to heal and vitamins to endure more longer the soaked side effect

 

6) Replace fresh fruits with something else: really unrealistic, as said loads of time around fresh fruits must grow only on trees, remove them from buildings and replace with something like snacks, chocolate bars, packed cookies, baby food (log conservation) and similar more realistic things 

 

7) Add knives: at last 3 types, common hunting knives, military one and rarely multi-use that can also used as can opener and screwdriver, they must be something every players has to bring with him and in the future they must be something really important for crafting recipe (to cut animal carcass, rope, leather and other similar things)

Some of these suggestions have been made before and others are on their way to being implemented. For example, I believe there's already a thread on having ruined clothes and backpacks lose slots and, as far as I'm aware, rain will eventually cause sickness; so staying dry will be important.

 

Fresh fruit I can sort of agree with. Doesn't really make sense that some fruit would be totally rotten and yet other fruit is pristine. Would be nice if you could get apples from what appears to be an orchard outside of Berezino.

 

Weapons, I'll grant, are easy to find but I don't think there needs to be a huge decrease in their number. Mid-high tier weapons should be reduced, sure, but I'd like to see more .22s and shotguns. The fact that I can usually find an M4 or an SKS before a farmer's shotgun doesn't feel right to me.

 

In regards to backpacks, I sort of agree. I think it should be much, much easier to make a makeshift bag. I spent nearly 3 hours the other day going from village to village looking for some rope and a burlap sack. I found the rope in the first 30 minutes. If burlap sacks and other similar materials were more readily available then that'd be good. I'd like to see more makeshift bags in place of mountain and taloon packs.

OP, i assume "Fireweapons" are Firearms (Guns?)

I agree with backpacks being rarer, but i agree more with Bacon on guns.

My bad, i mean all firearms, rifle and guns cause as beefbacon has said you can find a M4 in a castel tower or over a kiosk and it's ridiculous

 

that white ruined my topic  >:(
