zak757 146 Posted June 25, 2012 Yes it does, Officer Internet Police, yes it does. And the purpose of said Alpha is to improve the core of the game before going into Beta and eventually the release version. Why are you telling me to "shut up and quit whining, it's in Alpha" when the purpose of it is to provide feedback to improve... oh wait, sorry, ahem... QQ and whine like a bitch to improve the game in the future. We are all grateful for the game, and credit where credit is due. But you learn nothing from a compliment, criticism is what keeps the game moving forward and everyones opinion is valid."It's in Alpha, stop crying". No fucking shit. You are the one not supporting the game, so piss off. And "retards"? Really? Superiority complex, AND insensitive, win win!
jonryan32@gmail.com 2 Posted June 25, 2012 The thing is it's all about the delivery of your criticism.Explaining what you think is wrong, why, and maybe an idea to improve on the situation is fine.Crying, whining, bitching. These are all detrimental to your cause. Cursing out rocket and telling him he needs to fix things because it's shit, is a criticism that's going to be ignored. Crying that you're going to uninstall the game unless something is fixed, that's a criticism that will be ignored. Crying about how bugs are ruining the game for you, that's a criticism that will be ignored. If you have a legitimate bug, report it. If it's been reported either post your information in that topic, or wait for it to be fixed we don't need to hear you complain about it.If you have a legitimate gameplay complaint, write up a rational post about why this is negatively effecting your experience in an attempt to have a normal debate about the topic.Acting like an entitled brat, or an all around dumbass will not win you any supporters and will not get your post/ideas considered by rocket. daze23 549 Posted June 25, 2012 The thing is it's all about the delivery of your criticism.exactly. I don't know what the context of this rant is, but it all comes down to how you deliver your complaints. first of all don't call people names, or make fun of the mentally handicapped ;) and don't phrase your criticism like "why is this like this, it's so fucking stupid". there should be no "why" questions. just state your issue, and maybe offer some possible solutions
Areos (DayZ) 106 Posted June 25, 2012 Nobody is going to (or rather, shouldn't) dismiss your criticism with "Alpha test is alpha" as long as the criticism you bring forth is constructive and legitimate. How you present your concerns is key to getting others to partake in a meaningful discussion, and the best way to get others to listen to what you have to say is to bring facts to the table and not emotion-driven rambling. You can complain about a singular issue in two different ways and get two different responses from the community based upon your feedback. "I feel this issue needs to be resolved" is a good way to go about it; "this crap is broken, fix it NOW!" is going to get you flamed.Either way, opinions vary and people may get on your case even if you are being calm and constructive. Don't let the trolls get to you, and focus on the objective at hand.
Hetstaine 10852 Posted June 25, 2012 Fucking QQ .. Contrary to popular belief, QQ is not a set of crying eyes. It actually originated with the advent of Warcraft II. On battlenet, you could press ALT+Q+Q to immediately exit the match and program. Thus the term "QQ" was to tell people to just quit because they are unskilled. The term later developed and lost it's origin and is usually mistaken as crying eyes. In contemporary gamer culture, QQ has become the mainstream emoticon for crying eyes, though it is still often used in it's traditional sense.

Redshift 58 Posted June 25, 2012 If you have a legitimate gameplay complaint' date=' write up a rational post about why this is negatively effecting your experience in an attempt to have a normal debate about the topic.[/quote']Yea this doesnt work though. No matter how rational a suggestion may be, you are almost guaranteed to be flooded with people yelling either "If you dont like it then this game isn't for you" or "It's an Alpha you have no right to say anything negative whatsoever" or "Stop trying to have fun. No one should have fun in this game. The only reason you should play this game is so that you are so bored and frustrated that you hate every second of it" or some variation and normally with profanities and/or personal attacks thrown in for good measure. Replying to the inflammatory, dismissive posts is only going to provoke them to spew their diarrhea further and drive off the people who may actually wish to discuss things with you.If your thread is bombarded with such negative posts, then that's a shame. You'll usually have better success at sparking a discussion if posting within the suggestions board.

adimch 1 Posted June 25, 2012 There should be a ban filter on the word 'alpha'. It makes me cringe when people say it.
