DayZ: Why aren't you playing?

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd add my most recent FB post to the forums..

Starving, lost and alone, I stumbled upon what looked like a hanger. It just started raining so I ducked inside what looked like a control tower. I shut the door behind me, hoping not to draw attention, when I heard a voice. Carefully, I chamber the last three .762 rounds I have into my beat up Mosin. Damn.. that was loud.. I just know he heard me.

"What was that.. was that you?" I hear from the floor above me. Shit.. who is he talking to?!? If these guys find me I know I'm dead. Ducking low, I make my way to the stairwell heading to the next floor. I hear him again, "You didn't hear that? Shit.. where are you." Is this guy on comms, maybe it's a walkie? I didn't hear static, but his buddy could be in another location. I don't think he's here, but fuck it. I have to make a decision, and fast. I creep around the corner just in time to see a head pop up from the cover of the walk way. No time to talk, take the shot!

.762 to the head is a one way trip to whatever god you believe in. Adrenalin is pumping in full force now, and I sprint up the stairs. Looking down at his body I see now I made the right decision, I hope. He was armed to the teeth. 400+ 5.56 rounds, an FNX75 with 2 clips and a magnum with enough rounds to fill every pocket I have left. Wow.. what a cache. I'm so busy looting the spoils of my kill I forget who he was talking to... *crack* *crack* *crack* and I go prone on the floor.

I guess in my haste I forgot there was someone watching this cat. The sound is unmistakable (well, in text it might be). Someones got a Mosin zeroed in on me and I was lucky enough not to take the shot. I crawl down the stairs to the lower floor, and decide to just chance it and sprint. I hear another volley of fire and begin to serpentine. Shots keep ringing out, but I'm in the clear. A wave of relief hits me as I make the tree line.

Catching my breath, I start to take inventory and assess my situation. I grabbed his pack, tact vest and a few other goodies. Searching through though, I'm no better off. I'm down to two rounds in my Mosin, and I've got an AWC Amphian S Ruger with a single clip. Wait a minute.. that asshole was shooting at me! Rage replaces fear and now I'm a bit pissed. Ok, so I took out your buddy, but odds were he'd have killed me on sight, so it was self defense. This asshat. however, had no fear of me. This deserves, no.. demands, retribution! I circle around a bit in the tree line, shoulder my Mosin and head back to the control tower.

I check the tower.. no sign of anyone. in fact, the place seems untouched. There's a camo camping bag on the ground, a few mags of 5.56 rounds, and some other military grade gear not worth mentioning. OK, maybe he bugged out. I take a stroll up the tarmac towards the hangers, and begin scouting for gear. A pair of aviators, a damaged canteen and an M4 QCB butt-stock are some of my findings. Past the hangars I spot a small building, looks a bit like a brig. Worth a check. I head inside and start searching around. I make it to the top floor and spot something on the ground. Is that a blood test kit? Whats that doing here. I kneel down to pick it up, just in time.

*tat* *tat tat tat* *tat* Automatic gunfire spills into the building, shattering the window. I can literally hear the rounds whiz past me. Guess he didn't bug out after all. As soon as the volley ends, I get up and sprint downstairs, stopping at the doorway. I pause just long enough to fire a single round, not aiming at anything, before deciding to, once again, hail mary it out the door, sprinting to my right. *tat tat tat tat tat tat tat tat* More automatic gunfire blazes just past me as I dive around the corner. I shoulder my Mosin, knowing I've only one round left, and decide it's him or me, and if I get the shot, I'll live. He must have thought I was circling around the building, as when I came back around the corner, he was slowly working his way towards the opposite corner of the building. His loss; I lined my shot, knowing I had but one chance, and took it...

*7.62

And honestly?

1: Waiting on getting a new computer

2: Other games getting in the way

3: Waiting for bug fixes, which is a never-ending excuse after each patch (Not complaining, I LOVE the game... I just get glitch-killed a lot, or used to when I still played, and expect to be, when I go back to playing! :) )

So you shoot a guy then call his buddy an arsehole for firing at you? Sorry man but your in the wrong here. If it was me and my buddy you came across id do the same. Theres no excuse for unprovoked firing in a situation where you didnt need to.

In fact i love killing people that fire for no reason, its the best feeling this game has to offer.

The game has to be at least in the state of 1.8.x then maybe...and hardcore shouldn't have the hardcore label on it because it sounds 1337.

Lol.. I was drunk and writing from the in game guys personality. I was getting the bad lag but this last patch cleared it up for me, last night was pretty smooth as far as desync or rubberbanding.. practically none.
