Epoch: Base building.

When you are finding the perfect place to build a base, what features do you look for? The high ground, a spacious building, fuel and water pumps? I am having a tough time deciding where to set up shop. There are just too many places to consider. 

 

What do you look for when building a base on Epoch?

I like to set up in small remote clearings leaving enough room for a chopper or two. Unless your building next to a static fuel tank, your best bet would be to find a tanker truck and incorporate it into your base. If you ever need to move it, make your garage door has enough clearance. For some reason, the garage door kit, if flush with the ground, will only allow cars and suvs through. 

 

 

Despite your best efforts to build a vandal proof base or sticking it in a corner of the map, someone will find it. More importantly, someone will eventually break in so proper planning to mitigate your losses is a good idea. I like planting the plot pole in a block room with a combination locked door and store most valuables in a lockbox or safe. 

 

If you plan to do something large scale, consider tagging your friends to have them help you build it out.

My first base took me two weeks to find the right spot. Take your time, and you will find the right spot.

On Chernarus? In and around the destroyed buildings of Kumyrna is a favorite of mine. Well, unless there's AI, then it's wherever there's heavy AI traffic.  :thumbsup:

After having many concrete bases looted or destroyed by glitchers or nasty admin I choose to make my base by blocking a room or a whole floor of an existing building using one cinder door. Leaves more time for playing and less logins realizing i've been robbed of hours of gameplay building a nice place only to lose it all.

Plus, you can build bases all over the map. No need to pick one location for your dream mansion.

In any case, once you find a place you think might be a good new home for you. I suggest walking around the area finding the pros and cons until restart... then opening up the editor to do a practice build. That's if you plan on building in that location for a long time.
