BigChimpin 0 Posted March 20, 2014 Is there any way to play Day Z in alpha without paying money? Also since this is technically considered an MMO does anyone anticipate monthly subscription fees associated with gameplay? Lastly I did spend a fair amount of time searching through a majority of the posts in the forum attempting to obtain this information but was unable to do so. If I missed it somehow, my bad. odin_lowe 3686 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) You can get the game freely is someone gives it to you. (ex: via Steam) There will be no monthly fees ever in DayZ. edit: technically it's not really that MMO. Even with 64 players in a server. But, whatever, I'm not the one saying it. Rage VG 4033 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) No, and no. 1. There are no free demos of DayZ, thus the only way to gain access to the alpha would be to support the project through the Early Access system or if you have family sharing access to a user who currently owns DayZ (Note that Family Sharing restrictions will apply as outlined in the ToS), so someone's going to have to pay at some point. 2. I wouldn't personally consider DayZ an MMO as MMOs typically have one or a few instances for many players (More than what DayZ allows) to share. Either way, I honestly doubt a subscription model will be a thing. Edited March 20, 2014 by Rage VG
