nuggit 246 Posted March 20, 2014 Hi Sercaneryaz Dayz struggles on the best of rigs at times. You will find there is no magic setting. Best bet would be to grab msi afterburner or the free fraps to monitor your fps. Fire up the game and monitor your fps while changing your settings one at a time. It is time consuming to try out every setting, but it will help determine your bottleneck and what settings suit your rig the best. Everyone runs different rigs, which means we all run different settings. What may perform and look good for me, may be a landslide for you. I recommend taking a look at this thread, some valuable information to be had there too, which may help your cause. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/ I have also read object detail is responsible for rendering people in the distance, and the network bubble may also play a role in this? I cannot confirm this, but maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in? Best of luck mate :)
Mos1ey 6301 Posted March 20, 2014 There are a number of tweaks you can try in the pinned topic that Nuggit referred you to. :)
Quimoth 7 Posted March 20, 2014 quickest way to improve fps: reduce quality/disable shadows. after that the only real fps boost you can get will be to reduce textures. other settings are really depending on your GPU etc. so it is hard to tell what changes they will make (tho lowering quality will ofcourse have some impact) i wont recommend disabling post-processing since that is used to display your health(the blurrier your vision, the lower your health) for me, reducing resolution and shadows is more then enough to have quite a stable performance.
