Can you cook yet?

Hi guys

 

with the new patch I noticed they added different animal meat, can you kill animals and cook the meat now? If so whats required? stove? gas lamp?

I have one of those gas stoves, but I don't think cooking is fully implemented, I couldn't figure out how to get water in my pot, and it wouldn't hear up my cans, any fruit, and the new potato and tomato. Though after a few minutes the pan was bright red, to designate heat. I'm assuming you can only cook meat right now.

I would assume killing animals.

Meat spawn not enabled.  I'd expect that in the next update - with hopefully some hunting as well!

There hasn't been anything in any patch notes yet about it and I'm sure they aren't going to stealth patch a major game mechanic.

Maybe its me but i find the patch notes hard to understand, like they said they added boar meat, rabbit meat etc, but it doesnt actually do anything?

Why would I want to cook or hunt animals right now?

 

It is too easy to find can food.

 

And I can play hours without eating.

There is tons of stuff in the game that does nothing but is for a later planned feature.
