Server types

Recommended Posts

So one of the biggest things I have noticed on these forums is something of a divide in the playerbase. It seems half the community is looking for gameplay based more heavily on weapons and fighting and the other half seems to want more of a survival style game. Why not make two types of servers, one for survival enthusiasts that spawns far fewer weapons and encourages more scavanging and cooperation and another for more of an anarchy based gameplay element. As it stands the survival guys despise all the KoS players out there (or are at least annoyed with the amount of them) and players looking for a good fight want to see more military gear spawning.

No doubt, the goal of the game should still be surviving a zombie apocalypse through scavenging and moral choices, but I think putting players in a server that suits them might solve several problems. Additionally once a player creates a character in a server type, that character is locked to that server type so they can't just go gear up and troll the other servers.

Naah.
Even though people want to play the game differently, everybody should have the same terms and conditions applied to them in game.
This would do nothing but divide the entire community and create even more work for the devs.

You will end up with "Carebear Servers", where you get kicked for doing pvp, and you will end up with "Hardcore PVP Servers", where you arent allowed to do anything else then kill people imo..

This is where the phrase "This is your story" comes into play :) Play the game as you like, but everybody should start the same place and have the same "tools" at theyre disposal.
