A friend of mine is trying to download the update as we speak, but nothing seems to be working, steam wont auto update. He restarted his steam, computer and router.
Any suggestions? Will reinstalling the game work?

Has he set it to use the experimental patch? Is his steam authorized to update it (is it set to auto update)?

i had same problem and i right clicked dayz in steam library and verified game files and the download started while it verified
