Play without Steam

Dear Survivors,

 

My steam account was hacked two weeks ago, i reclaimed my account but for some reason am unable to login into steam as it refuses to recognize my account name. People at steam support are turning out to be very stupid as they over and over reset my password and tell me to login even when i've told them that my password is working fine (as I can login into steam's support website as it asks for a steam account name or e-mail address, and when I provide tha latter I can login), so it's my account name that steam is not recognizing.

 

Coming to DayZ, I want to play my game and because i can't login into steam, I can't play DayZ too. I am looking for a way to bypass the steam client and run DayZ somehow as I'm not sure how long steam is going to take to even understand what the problem is, leave alone solving it.

 

Any help would be appriciated.

You should be able to launch it from outside the game unless they changed it somehow because of steam. Don't have the game though, look for a dayz.exe or so should be easy to find.

It doesn't work, tells me steam is not running. :[

steam account name cannot be changed, whoever "hacked" into your account coudn't change that

oh and you can't play dayz without steam

find the file ClientRegistry.blob in your steam folder. delete it or if you don't trust the delete just cut and paste into a diff folder. then launch steam again, it will ask for login and password, use the one that works on the website.

Hope this helps, I have had to do this a few times myself

P.S. Make sure steam is not running at the time you delete or move file
