Servers, lack of

I have not noticed that in Australia, we have about 8 or 9 servers to choose from, but they are ALL full, ALL the time :(

I looked into renting one myself, but at over $100 per month it's just not going to happen. . . .

Are there any server lists around that are "unofficial" ? (do not show up in the server browser in 6 / gamespy)

I want to play this game, but cannot, as a lot of the overseas servers have a ping limit on them now and I get booted.

Great game....if you can actually get on to play it that is.

You could team up with 4-5 guys and split the renting fee :) But yea in primetime it can be rly hard to find a good server with room.. sometimes i spend 15mins hammering the enter button :b

AU$100 per month? I don't think you're looking at the right ones. How much data was that giving you?

AUSARMA have the servers running at AU$400 per month for 4TB which is the requirement for UL/DL - apparently it is super heavy between server to master DayZ server. They accept donations, so if you're looking at hosting your own why not just pitch in to their donations.

All going to DayZ servers only and can be refunded if one month they don't make the full amount. They keep the community updated mostly, and I've found their hosted servers to be the better ones available to oceanic players.

Don't rule out higher pinging ones though, you can play this game up to 200 ping. So LA, Seattle etc can be played.

I fully expect that when DayZ retails in the future, it will be P2P with the ongoing costs being put into maintaining Bohemia's own hosted servers. That way they can ensure secure loot servers and prevent hacking of ingame features.

The servers I was looking at are branded as "ArmaII" servers at $120.00 per month for 38 players.

$400 a month is ludicrous...... I don't mind donating to keeep servers running, but wow, $400, that is just nasty !

Need to turn the game into a social psychology experiment and get the government or university to pay for the servers :P

At that price, I am surprised that there are any servers at all. . . . .

Could be peeps with decent enough computers and upload/download speed. Seen plenty of non-US people with 6x better bandwidth then me.

just do what we all do play the press enter game until a spot opens up. but yeah if your interested in helping host/donate talk to the ausarma guys.

At this stage I'll have to settle for just donating to the AusArma group, they provide a few servers (god knows how), and I would like to contribute something towards that.

I have hardware on hand that can easily host this, but my bandwidth is not up to it.

I only have 100mbit and it's limited to 500Gb a month :( - Bandwidth in AU is expensive.

I was up till now using the Six Launcher to join games, but now I've changed to using the in game browser, I am finding it a lot easier to join by spamming enter :)

Just play on sub 200 yank servers, I play with a few different groups and we have little to no issues doing this.

With how packed the Aussie servers are its damn hard getting into an Aussie server with 4-6 players together without having to wait a decent amount of time.
