NY14 (hosted by Africanized Bees), tents and cars not saving properly.

Recommended Posts

Well, I hope I'm not complaining about something that is just a problem with DayZ, but here's what's going on.

On NY14, a veteran server hosted by Africanized Bees, my group has been having a recurring problem with tents and cars not saving properly after a server restart.

Sometimes the cars will reset with much better health than we left them on; a yellow ENG light would be green the next day, or windscreens would be magically repaired. They still appear in the same location, though.

Other times, our tents would be completely empty after a reset, despite making sure we've hit 'save old camping tent' multiple times. The same goes for vehicles; occasionally we'll put items in a vehicle, and they'll be gone after a reset.

The server is made to reset every 12 hours, so I'm not sure if that's part of the problem.

I guess I'd just like to know whether this is a problem with all servers, whether it can be fixed by some server admin magic, or if my friends and I should be storing our gear in a more reliable fashion?

My group wasn't having any issues with saving tents/cars. We just recently left that server due to poor performance though.

What's strange is that the damaged vehicle we had was respawned on full health, but with nothing in it, while the other two vehicles that had taken no damage were respawned with all the gear in them.

I'd appreciate this being looked in to, at least so it doesn't happen in the future. For now, I guess my group will just have to find another server to store equipment on.

I know I found that when riding my motorcycle around if I were to get on/off everything was instantly healed to full. Not sure if this is for the motorcycle only or others as well. Storing gear in vehicles is always risky though. Outside of a few jerry cans we never stored important gear in them for that very reason.

Yup, and that's why I decided to put our best, most important gear in a couple of camping tents, spam 'save old camping tent', then leave for the night. Turns out our Ural is more reliable.
