WaltTheGood 1 Posted March 17, 2014 I just wanted to share one of those "great experiences" on DayZ.So I log in, and I had abruptly logged out a few days earlier in the NWAF, so I'm in the barracks bathroom and within 10 secs I'm shot dead by "Kushinji"(?). I'm unconscious, so I plead for some assistance. What a guy. He proceeds to take time to revive me and send me on my way. He mentioned he was recording for his YouTube channel, but I haven't been able to find him. A shout-out to my hero. I hope one day I can see the video of me pleading for help :)

korpisoturi (DayZ) 127 Posted March 17, 2014 so he shot you, then felt bad and patched you up?
Karmaterror 982 Posted March 17, 2014 Personally id have considered shooting him for not trying diplomacy when he had the drop on ya....but thats just me lol. Least he redeemed himself with the medical help, iv shot people who I was unsure about before now. Probs killed some friendlys by mistake cos they didn't hear my instructions or language barrier. But most of the time people realise its over, and are really happy when I just leave em cuffed with all there gear intact :)
muddyraccoon 176 Posted March 17, 2014 Diplomacy may exist in all areas that are not at or within a 1 km bubble around an airfield.
Window Licker 504 Posted March 17, 2014 Honestly I would have simply presumed you to be a server hopper, looted your body, force fed bleach and left you to die, but that more to do with how I feel about that sort of behavior in general and in no way implies that's what you where doing. You are a medical miracle. It's nice to read that there are nice people out in that grazy and twisted world. One advice, log out somewhere save next time ;) Edited March 17, 2014 by Uutgrunnen
WaltTheGood 1 Posted March 17, 2014 He said (and I believe) that he was startled -- I don't think he was unfairly trigger happy :) I would never normally log out in the shower stall @ an airfield (way too hot), but I think one of my kids was yelling for my help IRL when I did and it was a couple of days later when I returned. It was funny. There I am standing in the shower, I hear that ominous "clanking" footstep sound and the door swings open. It seemed like time slowed down and "Kush" did a triple-take. I think I was reaching for F2 when -- "brrrrp...brrrp!" -- "You are unconscious." I felt like Will Ferrell in Austin Powers ;"OW! I'm still alive, but very burnt!" I didn't get all pissed and vengeful. I just said something about my bad luck having just returned after a couple of days. How I was unconscious and would be grateful for some assistance. He was cool. Anywho, just a fun experience. Cheers

makomachine 263 Posted March 17, 2014 I ran into a guy at NWAF in my first 50 hours of the game - the only other guy in the server (check rules of DayZ). Literally ran into each other as we cornered a hanger. He was being chased by 4 Zeds and both of us were freaked out. We both shot numerous times and missed each other thankfully - while we screamed FRIENDLY! Hilarious. wW both calmed down after gaining some 'distance' from each other and had a good laugh, and made some trades for gear. One of my most adrenaline filled moments of any game and the outcome hooked me up with a clan - because I communicated and regained composure. Kudos to your survivor savior - may his beans be plentiful and his loot spawns be rare!
