 If I don't get a response I quickly type the controls to them to be certain they're not just stupidly new. Some people watch DayZ tutorials that show how to go about killing new spawns but never touch on how to use the controls.

 

 Hope you found some more pleasant survivors later on!

I actually made a DayZ Standalone tutorial shortly after the release to explain the basic inventory system and how to interact with other players. It had more success than my most of my other videos.
