Reason why Bandits rise and heroes die.

You are clearly playing on the wrong server(s) if that happens to you all the time. Haven't been kicked or banend by an admin yet but then again i don't yap around like a 5yo challenging them to some gangbang every 5 mins. It's also depending a lot on the players behaviour, you kill them be proud and stfu...you can them noobs and what else you deserve the kick/ban. You show them respect they show you respect, you show them respect they don't show you respect leave and look for another server, that simple. I don't mind having a good player or two on a server, it gives you a challenge to become better than him. We were around 20th place in the OFP league back then and weren't really that good when i joined the clan but new players, a lot of training and discipline brought us up to the top 5 with a ( let me lie ) 15+ win streak eventually ended by a draw with the 1st placed clan and even won in 2 other small leagues, others were pissed and didn't like us for that because they were jealous but didn't want to put some effort into in themselves.

But you are right, always having the same players can get boring after a while, but you also have some casuals who show up every now and then. If you keep KoSing and pvp at a controlled level they will happily come back for another asswhooping either for you or for them but you can't deny that even if you had a ton of public servers you only play on a select few and you will get to know every one of them too eventually. The most dangerous thing that can happen on a private server is the admin not updating the server fast enough ( either update or features ) and a stalemate between factions. One side will become bored and quit.

I don't mouth off, just to be clear.

But I've played a bit of Rust with a friend, and we keep getting into shitty servers that seem chill until we raid one of the admins houses or one of his friends.

We even got raided in revenge but beat them pretty soundly and chased them off. I said, "Go on now, git!" And I see, "How about you 'git'" and I was banned.

In games like this, being at the mercy of someone with supreme power is never comforting. Sure, I like it when disruptive jerks and cheaters are kicked, but I've met a lot of admins who are unable to handle someone not licking their crack. And getting banned on a game like Rust can equal a LOT of time and progress lost.

Fucking up the gaming experience for a lot of people because you have a grudge with developers?

Yeah, that sounds like a very good plan...

I never said you mouth off and i don't know how your conversation with that server owner went before you called him 'git. An insult is an insult no matter how nice you wrap it up, how would you have reacted in his position? We had a case in my clan where a clanmate wasn't insulted but outplayed and annoyed by another player and he really wanted to kick/ban that player from the server because of his stubborn playstyle, so i quickly logged in and blocked access and talked some reason into him because i know he isn't like that. Then i assisted him in getting in game revenge on that player and it was aok. In the end it's what goes around, comes around.

And with your experience you know why players want their own servers so they won't be depending on a douche admin or someone shutting the server down, it is much to be hoped that they don't become the same as the people who made them rent a server in the first place. And you really seem to have a streak of bad luck when choosing servers...
