this might be bad idea but this is just something more to do in game like someone suggested you could turn lights on the town this is kind of same faction.
so something to do if you could ring the bells on chruch it could make all zombies agro so all people nearby could have to run away if they dont have weapons and then you are confirmed you are alone in town and you can loot places more easily bu ofcourse you have zombies after you but no player and like in now days they work with electricity you will have some gasoline and there would be generator in there already.

Great idea!
But some buildings in Chernarus seem to be old, so church bells which work by pulling a rope could also be possible.
The Walking Dead (game , comics and TV show) can be a great inspiration for DayZ.

I love this idea.  The idea of having sound traps that can either be constructed or environmental, that would be sweet.  Lure people into a church, hit the bell and hide.
