Mukaparska 55 Posted March 13, 2014 2 regular servers, 2 hardcore servers. Really? They're all full. Also 50 players is simply too much, you can't find loot anywhere since everything gets looted so fast...
makomachine 263 Posted March 13, 2014 I've got more than that listed in CO, but you do have a point that they are limited and nearly full most days. Looting is extra challenging since the new release anyway.
cav_guy 62 Posted March 13, 2014 There's a lot more than that. It all depends on where you live and the ping setting in your filter. There's been a lot more people on them since the latest update. Once stable gets another update, I expect it to go back down again.

Once stable gets another update, I expect it to go back down again. Two days ago there was a lot more servers online. Now it first shows 4, and then maybe like another 4 which you can't connect and has no one playing.
Mukaparska 55 Posted March 13, 2014 I guess I really don't have any other option than learn to play normal instead of experimental... How much does it differ? Respawning loot? Less bugs?
DarkwaveDomina 1099 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) I was actually in the process of searching for threads or posts about this when I found this thread. Before the last update on experimental there were many servers, the ones they recently added, but using the same filters as before I only only see four UK ones (two hardcore, two regular), four German ones (same, and always 0 players), and a single US one. makomachine 263 Posted March 13, 2014 Less bugs and many more choices for servers, thus loot options. New patch didn't add much this time around and is pretty rough in its current state.
Gekkonidae 270 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) yeah I was going to say, didn't they add like 50 more a few weeks back? Set your ping results a little higher and adjust your search filter. Once you see them all pop up, favorite all of them and you'll forever have them in your favorites list without having to dig around for them. pacific_coast 632 Posted March 13, 2014 most of these servers empty out of players when not in peak traffic hours. play then.also, expand ping range to find other exp servers outside your region, or search for ip's.

This game lags like hell even on low ping servers, so I'd rather play stable than get frustrated on servers with over 100 ping

I did just try setting my ping filter to 1000 but I still only see the same 8-9 servers, it's weird because I am not even seeing the Swedish ones any more. most of these servers empty out of players when not in peak traffic hours. play then. That isn't really the point of this thread. They added 40 or 50 servers to experimental a short while back and now they don't seem to be up any more. Edited March 13, 2014 by DarkwaveDomina

Caboose187 (DayZ) 3036 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) Unless something has changed in the past 24 hours(I haven't logged on yet) I find there to be way too many experimental servers. Edited March 13, 2014 by Caboose187
cuwe 66 Posted March 13, 2014 Was on last night and had the same list as Caboose. No issues finding space to play :)

Was on last night and had the same list as Caboose. No issues finding space to play :)That list being much shorter than it was last week. I'm genuinely happy for you if you had no trouble finding space, but I only have four servers available with reasonable pings and they are 50/50 right now. (I was just on one for a short time and it was laggy as hell, but that's the new patch for you.) Edited March 13, 2014 by DarkwaveDomina

Now people can actually get on and find stuff to test, you know, the whole point to the experimental branch even tho we are testing on the stable branch which is a test server to the test server??? wtf is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The more people testing the latest build, the more feedback there is before it goes on stable. Since stable only updates what, once a month, I don't see a problem with those big patches being more polished. Right now the .42 patch on experimental is an utter mess, it can only benefit from more people reporting problems before all the people on stable complain about how horrible it is they "waited a month for this ****".

It makes sense to have very few experimental servers because these are not suppose to be the "Play" servers. These are for full testing before going live. Kind of hard to test items when servers have been looted by hoppers. So the less servers, the less hopping due to them being somewhat full. Honestly, the experimental servers should be locked and you need to sign up to join them after filling out an extensive form on why you want to test on them. Now personally I don't care how much loot there is, let the server hoppers hop, it's only experimental anyway. I just want to actually be able to get on because I'm probably one of the few people who actually uses the feedback tracker, as opposed to most of the other 50/50 on the very small amount of servers who probably don't even know there is one because they want to just play with the newgunslol all the time. I have never seen the servers full. I also edited my last post that you quoted if you'd like to check out and respond to my edited part.

I also edited my last post that you quoted if you'd like to check out and respond to my edited part. When I filter for 0 ping the only servers with a decent ping are the UK and German ones, and currently there's something wrong with the German ones for me because they seem to show 0/50 and you can't even get on them. It's all well and good saying "just play on one with 150 ping, it's only testing" but the lag in the current .42 update is so bad even with 30 ping that I want to be able to see what situations cause me to get it. Either way, none of this really answers why they put an extra 40 or 50 servers up only to take them down again with no notice whatsoever with the latest update. As for the edit you made, I want to agree with you but I think the more people on it the better even if most of them are not using the feedback tracker. Server load and stress is a big part of these tests as the dev team gain a lot of useful raw data from it, as well as people doing a huge variety of different things across many servers in the same period of time. Also, a lot of those who don't use the feedback tracker might at least come on the forums to complain about something that's seriously broken so the devs can get some sense of priority. DirtyscumbagLith 270 Posted March 13, 2014 I jumped on exp a few times- each server was completely looted, they were both around 6:30am (so everything was gray) and since there wasn't any loot, everyone was on a kill crazy rampage trying to get gear, but us bambis suffered the grunt of it all because anyone who had a weapon knew everyone was after them, so bambis were being gunned down like mad. Didnt see a benefit to playing exp after that as running around starving and thirsty for 30 minutes without anything to eat/drink/shoot makes a pretty lame ass game. I just stick to regular now. Heck, I'm in Canada and I'll play on the DE ones sometimes just because the player interaction is better and I don't really lag around that much, Plus I had a very funny moment in one. Ran into an armed guy who was communicating in German. I told him I only speak English then he raised his gun at me but I told him I wasn't American and he let me live lol.

There are plenty of complaints about this, but apparently a couple of guys in this thread have no problems playing so there's no reason for the devs to tell us why they took down 40 or 50 servers last week. I was going to say play on the 150 ping ones :P. Hell, I would just play on stable if I was only interested in playing and not actually contributing. It doesn't help you look for items or certain areas of the map causing huge delays in your inventory or perfoming actions when your ping is crap though.
