Not sure how to start the game

Hi. I'm new, and I'm trying to start my own session, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. I select LAN Play, then DayZ Mod, and then to the right, there is Editor and Wizard, and that's where I get stuck. Yes, I know this is stupid, but I'm not the smartest. :P

 

Anyway, can anyone tell me exactly how to start this thing?

Get dayz commander from http://www.dayzcommander.com

Enter to Update/Install tab, update arma via dayzcommander, update dayz mod (least version) and done. Look for server in dayz commander.

Actually, I wanted to try it on LAN by myself first so I could get used to it, and I'm using DayZ Commander, but as I said, I can't figure this out.

Dont even think you can. Its a MOD. Not in the game.

Just join an empty server. There are usually a ton.

Yeah joining an empty server is probably your best hope. You can modify files and download things to make DayZ single player, but it is hard and often doesn't work.
