Unexploded ordinance

Recommended Posts

I was reading up on Chernarus lore and came across something quite interesting, though how well it would translate into gameplay.

The game appears to take Chernarus as it is at the time of the events of Arma 2, with ChDKZ, UN and Chernarus Defense Force berets and equipment available in game at present.

During this time the wiki* for Chernarus states 'Visiting the former military areas isn't forbidden, but due to large numbers of unexploded ordnance as well as the decayed conditions of the buildings it is not recommended.'

I'm not suggesting giving the player land mines as this has come up many times already, but having unexploded weapons littered around following the civil war and the zombie infection. These would be passive and detonate when disturbed by a clumsy player or a well led zombie, something extra for players to watch out for or utilize. The airfields have to be among the most visited locations so a little extra something to make players pay attention even if just server hopping.

Though you could argue that the Zombies milling around would be a pretty good way of clearing UXBs! =D

Think I just invalidated my own suggestion =/

well the thing is

-SA have its own Storyline (not the arma nonsense)

-the whole map is in a too good condition

i really cant see anything that shows signs of heavy fighting, hell even the buildings are free from bullet marks etc. No roadblocks or sandbag barriers........nothing.

I'm very sure we will see road blocks and signs of resistance in the streets to the outbreak but I dont think unexploded ordinance has a place unless its a town that was bombed but I'm sure we will never see that atleast.
