12 Story Buildings in Cherno, becareful on the last Stairs

Just want to make some people aware that the stairs on the 12 story buildings are a little bugged at the moment.

If you value your characters don't go up the last part which is covered in rubble.

 

On my way back down It broke my legs, made me bleed and killed me in a second.

 

I confirmed it wasn't a sniper as I had a buddy with me and the gear (except pants) was ok. Obviously he survived so it is not 100% of the time.

 

It was probably a once off glitch but just encase you were thinking of going up and don't want to die might want to think twice.

 

I will be logging a ticket in the Devbug tracker too so they can have a look.

 

But this is to be expected in an Early Alpha and I am not worried as this is the game I Love and Enjoy, I now get to gear up again which is the whole fun of the game :)  

 

Sorry for Topic spamming but just wanted to get the word out to maybe save someone elses Character

Just want to provide info to the community of potential deaths.

Did you run, walk, or vault just prior to breaking/death?

I was just walking down, it just let me transition onto them without issue.

 

Then sudden death, it did give the messages on screen of what it believed happened to me however I forgot to get a screen shot as I was raging LOL

Broken legs, bleeding, I think unconscious was a message and then death.

It happened in a flash of a second.

 

DayZ is a harsh mistress, she'll give to you one day, then take away the next LOL

Ive never been up there.. no snipers to hunt. But Ive heard you have to vault over the rubble or it fucks you up? Could that be what happened to you? Again, my ignorance is bliss on this subject.. to the point where I really should stop wasting your time. I guess I just want to know what to expect if I ever do go up there.. :P

On the way up I did have to volt otherwise it didn't let me pass.

 

You are probably right about having to volt both ways however I am scared to experiment with that as downward there is a window right there.

If it makes me jump instead of Volting and ya'know how jumping lets you pass through objects...... It is a long way down...

Only have to vault going up, should be able to just walk down normally.

 

Although, this is the RV engine so a height change of .1 cm is enough to shatter every bone below the hip.

It sounds like what happened.

 

It is funny as I had to battle through a town with a pitchfork, managed to find a medkit while bleeding out.

the fact I survived that was a miracle.

Although this may be a bit off topic, did you see any loot spawn there while you were in the building? I have not seen any when I have went up there.

Ah yes, now, the loot is spread between the 5th floor (where you exit the elevator) up to the roof.

It is not in every room and it is not everywhere.

 

If you take your time you will see where the items spawn however.

The items are either clothes (nothing special)

Food, medical and other generic items, Pot/pan, disinfectant etc... nothing high value nothing really worth the look to me where the ground level stuff around the area that spawns is just as good if not better.

 

Also stuff spawns on the balconies so take care looking for this stuff. I only was able to tell looking at an adjacent building, I could see a medkit on the balcony.

 

 

Good luck but to me it is not worth the effort that I put in as by the time I got there I was completely geared up and had everything I needed as none of the spawns are close to Cherno now.
