Question regarding deterioration

Can anyone confirm for me at which point a water bottle can no longer be filled with water? I have one that is badly damaged and I can't seem to find an option to fill it with water. Is it beyond worn that is can no longer be filled? Any help would be appreciated.

i am nto quite sure with that one, i have a canteen that is currently damaged but i am still able to fill it with water.

It doesn't seem to stop working at all, so I assume wear just isn't implemented for most items yet.

When my plastic bottle is really damaged, I just use that, duct tape and make nice silencer for my gun.....or

Same way when you want to drink from water pump, approach water pump and should ask you 'Fill the bottle' or somethink like this. Just not sure if you have to hold it in your hands or it can stay in your inventary. Just give it a try.

Filling from a Pond: (not an ocean or body of water connecting to ocean)

 

Hold Waterbottle

In FIRST PERSON stand in water and look at it

Use scroll menu to fill with water

 

Filling from well:

 

Hold waterbottle

Look at well in first person (near stone base)

Scroll menu fill bottle.
